Jury is still out, I think you need to give a good two years before you judge a pick. Some are late bloomers, some have a great first year then suck the next and some come out amazing.

I'm under the assumption that his evaluation said he plays better in a 3-4. He has been underwhelming.

Look if he was doing a good job he'd be playing more plain and simple.

The fact he isn't getting the job done should be a big surprise... he wasn't that fast. He is a serviceable DE at very best.

Granted its his rookie season and you shouldn't really worry if he is worth the pic of not yet... you got to give these guys time to develop and get use to the game.

DE I feel is one of our weakest spots on the team as well as OLB.

Other than that Jordan has actually performed better than I expected with him missing a lot of time in the pre-season because of the contract talks - it's clear he has a very high football IQ and rest will follow.

Well, at least we know which position the Saints are going to target in next year's draft and FA.

Don't know yet whether the 2012 draft will be LB strong, but the Saints have to improve there.

I feel so far, and it may change if they will get their act together, the DT's. They can be dominate, but have not yet, the lb's play has improved over the last 2 games, I hope that continues, the db's start out good but as the game goes on they start to were down. I blame a lot of that on the front 7 if they do a better job up front, our secondary will look good, very good. I feel that if Harper goes down were screwed, he can only take so much.

As well as we all should, because isn't his backup Abdul-Quddus, who is a rookie with limited playing experience? As far as I know Amaya is much better suited to play as a FS, but maybe someone like Torrence could step up...?

3-4, 4-3 doesn't meant squat on this team.

I see us in so many different Defenses more than a 4-3. I tend to like when we are in the 5-2 myself.

Yes, but if the contrasting figures we were given in the beginning of this thread were for two defensive players who play in a 3-4 base defense - then the numbers might not be comparable.

For example, Brooks Reed is an OLB in a Wade Phillips 3-4 base defense, which has made other converted OLBs shine in the past (f.e. DeMarcus Ware). So it would not be a surprise that a rookie who replaces Mario Williams (Ware 2.0) in that spot would be able to accumulate quite nice numbers fairly easily compared to Jordan, because that defensive system requires the LBs to be active in the tackling game.

At least that was my earlier point if you were referring to it in your post.

But, Reed got to the quarterback; Jordan has yet to get to the quarterback; and it's pretty obvious that the Saints Line Collectively has not put any significant pressure on opposing quarterbacks...
