One other thing to consider about that call: by using the time out there, the Falcons basically lost the opportunity to try and draw the Saints defense offsides without even having to snap the ball. Coming back from a time out, everybody on the defense has huddled up, talked it over, which kinda calms them down and clears their head, making it very hard to draw a defense off with a snap count in that situation -- but if the defense is skittish/panicked, and on their heels, not sure what is going on, and you're unexpectedly setting up at the line to go for it, it is MUCH easier to get them to jump.

I don't see Smith going anywhere soon. Clowns fans want wins just like any other team. A failure to exeucte in any number of plays led to this for Smith & for us. Our play calls SUCKED in thier final drive of regulation & we are (most of us) pissed at GW because of it!!

Just as long as we realize they'll be bringin' it to the next meet. They went home from this one squat-peein' all the way. Nobody likes that feelin'. They'll show up at the Dome with a whole lot to prove and we'd better be ready for it.
