Anyone MISS Hartley?

Have to say, I don't.

Althought Kasay hasn't hit all of them, he is getting our attention, especially from long range!

I never forgave #5 for some of his misgivings last year when it absolutely had to go through.

darstep 11-17-2011 11:55 AM

NOPE!
As long as Kasay keeps booting them like he has, Hartley who?

73Saint 11-17-2011 11:56 AM

Who????

lynwood 11-17-2011 12:09 PM

I do. I trust Hartly more for the longer kicks.

I'm surprised that no one is Yelling about Kasey's missed kicks as Much as they did with Hartley.

So far Kasey is 22 out of 27 5 missed so far this season.
Hartley's last year total was 20 of 25 5 missed.

That being said Kasey has filled in nicely but will not be back if Hartley is Healthy.

Michigan_SF 11-17-2011 12:10 PM

I think Ms. Hartley is getting kinda old but IDK she probably knows a thing or two.

Funny how timing is everything. Hartley only missed 5 field goals all of last year and Kasay has missed 5 field goals so far this year but Hartley is the goat because of the timing when he missed. Hartley is still the future not a 42 year old kicker. Kasay did miss one Sunday that could have prevented OT.

saintfan 11-17-2011 12:12 PM

I know one thing. If that squirrel of a 50+ yarder Kasay made against the Clowns had missed low and to the right (which it nearly did) this thread would only exist in an alternate universe.

Get well and get right Hartley. Kasay will hold the fort 'til you return young man.

Mardigras9 11-17-2011 01:17 PM

I thought it was funny how Kasey hit the field goal to beat Atlanta this year, and Hartley's miss in the same game cost us dearly last year. They said Kasey was done past 40 yards, Ha Ha.

Srgt. Hulka 11-17-2011 01:30 PM

If the Falcons had gone ahead and won in overtime last Sunday, would you guys be skinning Kasey alive for missing a field goal, the same way Hartley was beat up last year? That one field goal Kasey missed would have meant a win in regulation, not a fight to the death in overtime. I know what you're going to say, "But Hartley missed one when it really counted and it cost us the game and it cost us the division championship". It was the second game of the season. All field goals, as well as any score, really count, no matter what part of the game or what part of the season it is made (or not made). Personally, I think Hartley will do a fine job. Every kicker is going to miss a few field goals. That's just the way it is. I havn't seen a kicker yet that has hit 100% of his field goal attempts throughout his whole career. If we would have lost that game last Sunday, I would have put most of the blame on the defense, not Kasey. Just like I don't completely blame Hartley for missing that field goal last year. I'm sure I'm in the minority though.

Now Alabama is another story. Their kicker missed 4 field goals in that game against LSU. I would have roasted is a**! LOL

Mardigras9 11-17-2011 01:41 PM

It would be different if Hartley had missed from the same area as Kasey, but Hartley's miss was from like 25 yards, that was my issue. Hartley will forever be in my heart for the NFC kick which was AWESOME. It's nice to have the consistency Kasey has given this year.

NOS2SB 11-17-2011 01:48 PM

Not really.

That wart between her tits is nasty.

halloween 65 11-17-2011 01:50 PM

I like Hartley, he has one of the strongest legs out there and youth to boot. I hope he gets well and comes back even stronger. Kasey has been good so far, I just wonder how his leg would feel on a cold, very cold night in Packer land, he may have the expierence on Hartley but he don't have the leg.

Wow I didn't know that but that's good information. I would like to see Hartley back and I don't see the the Saints investing in a 40 year old kicker.

Maybe it's a callous :-D

Ooookay...

I find fan behavior interesting. Hartley was a HUGE reason that the Saints won the Superbowl two years ago and due to some missed kicks last year some people wanted him out of New Orleans.
Fire Gregg Williams!
Get rid of Shanle!
Harper sucks!
(Yeah, how many were saying that at the beginning of this season?)
What's Ingram done? He sucks!
Will Smith stinks!
Cam Jordan was a terrible pick!

The word "fan" is short for fanatic so I understand some of the outrageous banter but fans go too far sometimes---in my opinion.

I hope that Hartley heals up well and comes back next year and boots his way into the Superbowl.

iceshack149 11-17-2011 02:51 PM

Vilma too?! Oy vey.:computer3:

You got that right.

AlaskaSaints 11-17-2011 05:56 PM

LMFAO

You guys are sick. Well, some of you. Poor woman... And at my age she ain't that bad looking either!

Until Kasay misses an UN-FORGIVE-ABLE kick, like Hartley did, he's our man.

How does Kasay WEAR OUT his leg? He's only 40 years old for God's sake! From the looks of that 52-that-went-waaaay-thru, he's got alot of life left.

I said in a REALLY early Kasay thread that he'd have some shank in him from the way his ball leaves the ground. That is proving true, but he has not LOST a game for us yet, although he had a chance to last week. We should have kept the ball in play and got SIX. I don't want to hear "but, fumble", either. The one that Hartley missed was on a second down I believe, because we for some reason thought a kick would be AUTOMATIC. I was screaming, "NNNNOOOOOOOOO!" when we decide it was time last week also.

That is inviting disaster.

For the record - I don't miss Hartley. He's INJURY-PRONE!!!

LOL

V..could give a hell of............well anyway Kasey is fine right now...i like the old man coming up to kick..he has something to prove...watch some interviews with him after he joined us...

Crusader 11-18-2011 04:44 AM

I miss Hartley. He is our future at the position and I really hope he will be back fully healthy next year.

subguy 11-18-2011 06:51 AM

The truth I forgot about him until this thread....I do hope he has an excellent return

homerj07 11-18-2011 11:03 AM

I want us to filed a team with the greatest chance to win. I dont care if we have a horse kicking filed goas.

Cruize 11-18-2011 03:33 PM

I miss Jackson, Mills, Johnson, and Swilling. And a time when they didn't wear those ugly black pants. LOL.

ScottF 11-19-2011 06:46 AM

point's moot--Kasay is a stop gap, Hartley will be back next year. (unless Taylor Melsomething is coming back)

as for Kasay, my biggest surprise is that he still has the length, but not the accuracy.

maybe I'm taking it personally- I have been to 3 games this year, and he has had a miss in each, in three different domes

CheramieIII 11-19-2011 08:46 AM

No but Kasay is a peckerhead. I shouted at him 15 times as he walked bye me in the Saints tunnel before the Falcons game and he wouldn't even look at me. The hell with the little kids crying next to me I was crying too damnit!

Wow that was a good one. No just get better and come back next year. He did help the SAINTS to win a Super Bowl. Lets not forget that.

NWSaintsFan 11-19-2011 11:33 PM

Hartley will be back next year, and I'm looking forward to it.

People hate him because he missed some important kicks last season, funny how people remember his missed kicks, but not the ones he nailed during our Super Bowl run, you know, those kicks that will probably go down as some of the most important kicks in New Orleans Saints history.

Memnoch_TP 11-20-2011 04:52 AM

We remember the good kicks. But that 28 yarder he missed was unforgivable. Those good kicks may go down as some of the most important kicks in New Orleans Saints history, but to will that 28 yarder against Atlanta.

Had it been a 52 or even a 45 and people would not harp on it so much. But a 28 yard kick that ended up being the difference between defeat in the first round in Seattle and a 1st round bye and a lot of dreams and what ifs that could easily have been another trip to the Super Bowl...

No, sorry, we can't forget that.

Rugby Saint II 11-22-2011 05:36 PM

Hartley is a little injury prone but he is the future and holds a Superbowl record for kicks over 40 yds.
