FOX's Mock Draft 2.0

http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2141522

Just some things I found interesting in the comments from the mock draft.

1. "Manning likely will go No. 1 overall, but it may not be to the Chargers. They have many holes to fill, and could trade this pick to the highest bidder. Oakland, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Miami, Dallas and Green Bay are all potential Manning suitors. "

Apparently the mainstream media seems to believe that the Saints have absolutely no interest/chance at getting into the Manning bid war. This alone lists 6 other teams as possibilities.

2. "The Longhorns ran the ball almost twice as much as they threw it in 2003, so Williams didn't have record-setting stats. After working hard in the weight room for the first time in his career, he stayed healthy as a senior, avoided the hamstring injuries that bothered him in the past and looked sharper than ever. "

Sounds like something that Stallworth should look at doing. I believe Stallworth and Williams are about the same age. If getting stronger kept one from having hammy pulls, maybe it will the other.

3. "Fred Thomas, Dale Carter and Ashley Ambrose all are on the downsides of their careers. Gamble, a great athlete and big-time playmaker, is a promising corner with great speed. He must refine his recognition skills. "

It bothers me that there's a possibility that we might pick a guy who still needs to "refine his recognition skills" instead of someone who may not have as much potential, but is more ready to play now.

Maybe so, but the Fins are going after Henson.
He goes on to say....

The Raiders also may opt to trade down because they have several needs and likely won\'t take a quarterback here. If they stay at No. 2, it would be hard to pass on Fitzgerald.
The Packers\' window of opportunity to win a Super Bowl is now, which is why they may elect to draft a defensive end with this pick, because he would provide a more immediate impact. Brett Favre will return for at least one more season, but his retirement looms and if the Packers address their long-term QB situation, Losman is the right fit.
And I agree with the guy, Dallas and Pittsburgh both need RB\'s in the worst possible way.

The 08 Theory survives!

Every player in the draft is going to have a BUT after their list of skills. You virtually never find a player who comes out on draft day and can start immediately and play well without needing to improve his game one way or the other. Further, when you\'re picking 18th you\'re going to get a guy with some BUTs.
