I am all for intensity in plays. I understand not wanting to be the whipping post for other teams and referees when you are a team like DL now or old Saints used to be. Everyone wants their team to get that league respect.

Playing with intensity. Legal hard tackles, all ok.

Pulling facemasks a few times and shaking opponents heads at the same time is not legal, sportsmanlike conduct, or playing with intensity.
Pounding an opposing team members' head into the turf a few times and then giving him an old chest stomp is not playing with intensity, heart, and legal.
He all of this and he really should have been out at the 1st, 2nd, facemask pulling head shaking. I think he had three of those.

What this is wanting to do is send as many of an opposing team's members home with concussions and in wheelchairs as possible.
Shu is a short fuse waiting to seriously injury an opponent any day now.

Sort of ironic, that DL was the team where Mike Utley played and you know the rest.

Suh has problems. He needs to sit out some games, get some mind therapy, but of course, DL coaching staff won't do that. Suh met with NFL at beginning of season for a little meeting, but as you can see , that did not help.

I do not want this guy playing against my Saints

I just hope this entire incident puts a muzzle on Suh's play, so that he is coached down by his own coaches into being ineffective -- "tone it down, son" "don't go off like that," "whatever you do, don't get a flag" etc. And I hope he gets put under the microscope by the refs so any little ticky-tacky incidental infraction or aggression on his part gets called, when we play the Lions in two weeks. Or I hope he gets suspended and thus impacts his team's entire season.

I happen to think that one incident truly cost them the game -- I know they were already losing anyway, but not that badly, and that was the critical moment where the Lions had a chance to stop the Packers and get back into it -- after that TD when Suh went out, the Lions were toast, it became a blowout, so that's ALL on Suh as far as I'm concerned. I think we just saw the first crack in the Lions locker room -- they showed youth and inexperience in the spotlight, now we know that they do not handle adversity very well, so let's use that against them in our Sunday night game.

And Jenkins needs to step away from the phone. I am really surprised and disturbed by that remark, although in context it may have just been that he was having a knee-jerk reaction of players automatically siding with each other against the refs who do the ejections, and against the league who place the fines. Still dumb to say it like that, though.

Anyone remember when Roman Harper went out of his way to flatten Steve Smith of the Panthers, causing a bench-clearing brawl?

We defended that.

We gotta be careful how we point at Suh, although he was CRIMINAL in this instance.

A lying criminal.

You're right, and I don't want to be labeled as someone defending what he did after that play.

Still, sometimes you gotta slobber knock somebody (yes, within the rules...all legal like) but as I've said and as we all know, there's crap to goes on 'in the trenches' and in piles after a fumble that would get half the league suspended if, somehow, the NFL could catch them all.

I am reminded of two expressions:
"It's only illegal if you get caught"
"If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'"

It's easy to take the high road in situations like this one, but people throwing Jenkins under the bus for his comments are doing so without context.

If he said, "Yeah, hell yeah. I admire someone who plays dirty", then yeah, but that's not precisely what he said, and in fact may not be anywhere near what he said.

But the vigilantes are already out in full force. For Malcom's sake I hope he learns a valuable lesson. That lesson is beware the court of public opinion, because they'll crucify you without a trial.

I have issues with both those expressions...

"It's only illegal if you get caught" - No its still illegal even if you don't get caught.

"If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin' - No, you can try without cheating

You can have issues with them. You have heard them both though, because they are used time and again. It's not a discussion on right on wrong, at least not on my part.

Fact is, there is no context in what Jenkins said on the receiving end of his twitter comment, and yet everybody wants to hold him accountable for something. For what, exactly?

I think he said he wan't talking about the dirty play. He said, "I love the way Suh plays... The stomp was a lil much but everything else is what u are supposed to be like."

So what part of that is he being strung up for? Frankly I like the way Suh plays, and yes I agree the stomp was a little much, but I like his intensity. So I agree 100% with Jenkins. And further I think BOTH our o and d lines would be wise to play with a similar intensity.

Now that's just my .05. The mob will have their say.

Well to say the stomp was "a little much" irks me. It was a LOT much.

And Suh's had the dirty player rep for two years now, and Jenkins states he likes the way he plays. To me, and perhaps I'm reading too much into it, that means Malcolm is OK with his overall style of play.

I read that as Malcolm admires players who play dirty.
