Well, they came in as 7 point home favorites and the New Orleans Saints sent the hometown son of legendary Black and Gold quarterback Archie Manning, Eli, packing back to the Big Apple with his New York Giants teammates after a 25-point beat-down in the Big “not so” Easy on Monday Night Football.

For all intents and purposes, this game was already over by halftime as the Saints seemed to have just been getting warmed up on offense over the course of the first two quarters with a 21-3 lead. Having attempted a fake field goal on the first drive of the game in a 4th and 11 from the Giants’ 19 yard line situation was just the first sign of New Orleans’ overwhelming confidence as a team to be able to generate points and dominate the game against such a high quality opponent. After all, the New York Giants had defeated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass 24-20 just 3 weeks earlier, right? Somehow though, it should have been obvious that another 24-point effort from the G-Men would not be near enough to beat these Saints.
