OK, now that Mike Williams has declared himself for the draft, suddenly everything in the top 5 is changing. My question is why?

I do not believe the Chargers should pull the plug on Drew Brees right now. He's yet to start a 16-game schedule, so who knows what the kid can -- or cannot -- do. Given another offensive weapon (WR Mike Williams from USC?), I think Brees' numbers would improve and he could be a good QB.

So with Williams declaring for the draft Wednesday, does that make me change my No. 1 pick? Yes. Williams is that good, in my opinion, and sticking with Brees while adding Williams would be worth the gamble of passing on Manning.
If writers such as Cross believe a WR would tickle SD's interest, why would they be passing on Fitzgerald? Does anyone think that Williams is that much all around better player than Fitz? I haven't seen a mock draft yet showing Fitzgerald as #1 overall, but now that Williams is declaring himself eligible...everything has changed. Hmmmm

Mock Draft's

Mock drafts are fun but drive me crazy.
My own pet peeve is the crowd that\'s always, \"No way (insert player here) slips out of the top 5!\" Invariably, there are about 10 players who consistently have no chance of falling out of the top 5.
Like 10 players can be taken in the top 5. :casstet:

At any rate, who are the guys who are sure thing, top 5 picks?

Manning
Roethlisberger
Larry Fitzgerald
Sean Taylor
Mike Williams
Kenechi Udeze
Vince Wilfork
Tommie Harris
Roy Williams

I think he\'s gonna be great, but not the top pick. Think Terrell Owens, without the attitude. He\'s 6\'5\" 230lbs- now, repeat that again. His one drawback is his speed, which is in the 4.6 range.

Yes, he is that much better than Fitzgerald. He was the most dominant receiver in college football this year and he was a sophomore. His third NFL season will be an average receiver\'s first. So at 22, when the kid is entering his third year (usually the breakout year for WRs), he will be worth every cent. He very easily could be the rookie of the year.
