Hit of the Game...

by Malcome Jenkins... Stopped that dude right in his tracks and on 4th, they don't make the first down. :bng:

Not taking anything away from Jenkins, he made a great stop but Johnson made a huge mistake, he had it without that juke. He's making way too much money to not know all he needs is inches for a first down. Jenkins is becoming very good with timing. Sometimes he'll come out of nowhere and make a great stop.

Jenkins made a couple of big plays today. Especially this one.

Jenkins led the team in tackles with 10 total, I believe...

I'm still not high on Jenkins after the past few games but he played better today. Although he is still in my dog house until he plays like I know he can play.

As a whole the "D" played very well. They gave up a few big plays but...

Jenkins helped save the game!

I'm sure people could point to a laundry list of missed tackles if they wanted to pick apart the games, but I think in general as a whole, the defense is getting much better at that basic, wrap-the-guy-up-by-the-legs-and-throw-him-to-the-ground type of tackling. I see a noticeable difference in recent games, compared to earlier in the year, or slow-mo replay of last year's Marshawn Lynch run etc. I think they are improving in the style or execution of their tackling. It's just a hunch but I seem to see less whiffing and guys flying around and missing, etc

Yes I agree. There are holes in the defense sure but overall these guys have been getting increasingly better and now is when its most needed.

Tuff game but we got another win!
2nd seed is just that much closer.

Huge stop by jenkins, no doubt.

He loves that submarine tackle and in the high lights it looks great but for every good hit there are whiffs on the tackle because he took his eyes off the ball carrier. That's what happens....it's hard to look at your opponent when you are a missile. One side step and you just bounce off.
We do seem to be wrapping better and finishing the tackle as the year goes on. Our front four are finally getting a little pressure as well which of course helps tremendously.
