Jared Allen apologizes to N.O residents, but not city

Minnesota Vikings DT Jared Allen offers apology to New Orleans residents, not city - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com

saintfan 12-14-2011 12:53 PM

He's still a tool.

jcp026 12-14-2011 12:53 PM

The only apology I'll accept is in the form of a contract to play for the Saints.

Beastmode 12-14-2011 01:06 PM

New Orleans isn't for everyobody. Neither is the SB 44 trophy.

Papa Voodoo 12-14-2011 01:59 PM

Gumbo from a hotel = FAIL
6'6" NFL lineman scared of the Quarter = SUPER FAIL

I would presume that Mr. Allen's drinking issues involved him being the fella hurling in the street. And everyone knows that was a tourist...not a local.

dizzle88 12-14-2011 02:01 PM

Jared gets dumber by the second, don't worry your stay wont be long when one of our RB's sits you on your behind

BIGEASY504 12-14-2011 02:18 PM

No need for it Jared, bottom line is it takes certain kind of person to live in Detroit and New Orleans. Jared what your really saying is your not built for this – Jared honesty is your best policy

jnormand 12-14-2011 02:23 PM

Allen can KMA.

skymike 12-14-2011 04:13 PM

I must be a bad mofo, then.

QBREES9 12-14-2011 06:16 PM

The advice made quite an impression on him, Allen said, as did the drive from the airport which, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, looked gutted and uninviting.

Think before you speak.

Danno 12-14-2011 06:17 PM

I'll still take that A-hole in a Saints uni next year.

AlaskaSaints 12-14-2011 07:10 PM

Totally uncalled-for comments. And I won't forgive him for them.

HOWEVER, New Orleans has fallen quite a ways since the '70's and you guys know it. Not EVERY neighborhood now, but mine is looking a bit rundown and I'm told that the residents now include quite a few "NON-resident-aliens." I grew up on Banks St, near the cemetary. Of course I drove through during my recent visit. THAT will always be a mandatory excursion.

It's just sad when "home" no longer looks like home, but that's a part of maturing I guess.

All that being said, the Minneapolis / St. Paul airport has just as certainly been settled by East Africans and you just know a mullet-wearing redneck like Jared Allen grits his teeth whenever he walks through "his own" airport...

The world is forever changing. Ask the dinosaurs about that!

Alaska

But I love me some NOLA all the same.

This is so true. It's changed so much, that it doesn't even feel like home when I go back.

Di Di Di!!!

breesfan27 12-14-2011 09:07 PM

I'm sorry, Jared Allen. How many wins do the Vikings have? Two? Yeah, that's right. Shut the **** up.

Mardigras9 12-15-2011 09:22 AM

Not the first time I have heard that comment. It is a general impression from most people who do not frequent the city.

neugey 12-16-2011 11:13 AM

*machine voice* Apology accepted. Prepare to die :)

Ditto.....the dude is a monster & already a lock for the HOF. Kinda' worries me knowing that Bushrod will have to face him. Ughhh!!!!

That said.....I hope room service hooks him up with gumbo with "the secret sauce". LOL.

Enjoy your drive through Minniesomalia on your way home today, punk.

You were the least effective player on the field.

dizzle88 12-18-2011 07:57 PM

Seemed like Bushrod did great against Allen, his mullet didn't get anywhere near Drew all game

SaintsBro 12-18-2011 08:16 PM

Yeah, and I think tonight I saw a few Christmas lights twinkling on some of the shanty-town hovels around town...maybe the city is not as shabby as people think after all!

QBREES9 12-18-2011 08:19 PM

Jared say you're sorry. We just kicked your A**

TheDeuce 12-18-2011 08:22 PM

ROFLOL, and me, too, Mike, because my cuz and I used to go to Saints games (two women) by ourselves, and never felt very nervous as long as we stayed in the crowds in the quarters. Key is....don't be stupid!!!
