Defensive Efficiency Ratings are not too clever.

(Typical British understatement)

lol, Im not crazy about our Efficiency as a defensive unit either, but its not our ranking at least. Thats under "2011 NFL Opposition & Defensive Statistics" we are Ranked 16th in the NFL. Lucky Min is even below us in efficiency.

WOW - too many stats.

The one I am the most concerned about... Who gets the "W"

I have no problem with stats at all, as long as relevant stats are being used to evaluate relevant deficiencies/proficiencies.

The problem with stats is that when they aren't used correctly or in proper context, they can be manipulated to show anything you want them to show. Politics is probably the perfect example of this abuse.

Agree , you need them to evaluate where you stand or need to improve, but they can be used inappropriately in a novices hands especially.

Thats why Im just shooting them out there vanilla. Make of them what you want. Stats, like the offense Line ranking have remain constant #1-5 for 5 years, thats one way you find trends of good coaching, personal, etc

None of that even matters in this game. What it comes down to is this. Can the Vikings' defense stop, or even slow down at all, what the Saints can do offensively? We know our defense can keep their offense from outscoring ours if push comes to shove, but it should never even come anywhere close to that in this one.

Once Drew gets us up by 2 or 3 TD's early in the first half, they will be scrambling around and throwing the ball all over the field to Gregg Williams' delight! All we have to do is catch those sure interceptions that hit our secondary in the freaking hands and we'll be running up the score in no time.

Well Jared Allen is #3 in fumbles recovered in the NFL, #1 in sacks at 17.5, and #1 at being a backward knuckle dragging redneck.

Vikings Defensive Line is the #4 most efficient run defense , 3rd in pass protection,

..but Their Total defense is 31st in total defense efficiency, and Ranked 30th in the NFL.
#26 in Pass Defense
#8 Rush defense

What that means to me is the Vikings front 4 DL men are not a joke. We should never run right at them, because its obvious they are pretty good.
I remember GB struggled against them, and that was because GB's OL is just horrible. GB almost lost that game. I don't think Rogers is a great scrabbler , I think he has to scrabble or he's dead, lol

Looks like the rest of the Vikings defense is complete trash. So, screen plays, sweeps, quick slants, and short post should carve them up, until they are tired,
and we need an extra hat on Allen. Judging from his comments he would like nothing better than to end Brees's season.
