Vikings players reportedly brushed off defensive play-calling
 

Fred Pagac has traveled a bumpy road in his first -- and possibly last -- season as Minnesota's defensive coordinator.

To start, the 2-11 Vikings are surrendering an outrageous 28 points per game, a factor in coach Leslie Frazier's decision to take command of play-calling duties during a loss to the Raiders in Week 11 and against the Falcons the following Sunday.


In addition, there have been whispers of a small mutiny, with ESPN Twin Cities citing two sources to report that a collection of defensive backs have, at times, dismissed Pagac's play-calling for their own coverages. Sources told the radio station that players shared their concerns about the play-calling from the outset.

This game scares me. I think we win by 7

Before we completely panic, just remember gentlemen, the Lions came back from a 20 point deficit against this Vikings team and won. The Falcons were up by 17 against them, lost most of that lead, and still won. Tebow came back from behind on them and won. They were ahead of the Pack at halftime and lost. Etc. Even if the Vikings briefly get a lead, I am not going to freak out as long as the Saints and Brees have a shot at winning.

Frankly, I would LOVE to see their DB's break off from the playbook and try and play improv street ball against Brees, Colston, and Graham etc, with half their defense running one play and half the defense running another, trying to be heroes. Find the one spot on the field where the Vikings' "called" defense and the "freestyling" guys don't meet up, and that has Saints' TD written all over it. Deep ball to Henderson, and a bunch of Vikings guys cussing and jawing at each other after the play.

Well i certainly stand corrected..... It was like watching mike tyson versus mickey mouse...... Cant believe they laid down like that....

I want to know more details about that touchdown that got called back by the fullback holding penalty...that one really kinda looked to me like the DB's might have been freaking out, breaking off from the playbook and freestyling a little bit...they got burned big time in a wide open way that looked to me kinda like they might have been improvising and out of position. Just sayin' I wonder!
