Kudos to the "D"

Good job just over 20 yrds total offense ofr the QUeens.

ONly the one long run & a couple of plays by Gerhart.

Way to go guys!!

halloween 65 12-18-2011 03:52 PM

That foot in the a$$ really worked. They looked a lot better.

dizzle88 12-18-2011 03:53 PM

D did great today, would have more turnovers from them but can't fault how they continually stopped the vikings and the amount of sacks we got

I think you meant 200 yards.

But even so, over 100 yards of that was late in the 4th against our backups.

papz 12-18-2011 04:10 PM

We were 1 Peterson missed tackle and a garbage time score away from a great job on defense.

They did good.

I can go with great though. I'd say A-minus. It wasn't perfect but it was certainly one of our best of the season.

foreverfan 12-18-2011 04:12 PM

And that was against a NFL Offense and not TULANE.

Don't forget the running game...

38 CARRIES
161 YDS
4.2 AVE
1 TD

PLUS IT WAS AN AWAY GAME!!!!

Ok, that was fun, but Atlanta won't be a cakewalk like that.

Gotta beat the best to be the best. It's in our house. Bring'em on. :bng:

Yep, I'm sure they're dreading the match-up a lot more than we are. ;)

Halo 12-18-2011 04:31 PM

Definitely arguably the best, most aggressive defensive performance this season for the boyz!

AlaskaSaints 12-18-2011 05:10 PM

Did Porter play? Never heard his name all day. Of course I never heard Shanle's name all day and he played the entire game... so...

Maybe it was just me.

Come to think of it, I did not see porter all game either.

I'm not sure if it had anything to do with Ponder getting below 50 yards passing all game or not. But we had no tackles, he was on the injury report but listed as probable...

halloween 65 12-18-2011 06:12 PM

We did look like a play-off D today, I hope they keep up the intensity and good play.

jnormand 12-18-2011 06:58 PM

We got pressure from the defensive line and played very good coverage. I was impressed.

xan 12-18-2011 08:22 PM

I'm with the majority here. We beat Lighthouse for the Blind.

No puffing chests allowed. We followed clubbing School for the Dolts with a steaming turd of a game to let the Clowns back into the hunt, and put us at a huge disadvantage for a bye.

SaintsBro 12-18-2011 10:07 PM

Wait, I thought that we were not supposed to say good things about the Gregg Williams D? Did I watch the same game as you guys, the one that we won? Or did the defense lose in the final minutes? I can't remember...

Euphoria 12-18-2011 10:36 PM

FINALLY...
and you know who had a good game... ROBINSON of all people.

I think that Porter was injured in the game. Either way, Robinson did a good job today. Good show young man. I won't have to hear about cutting you and Gregg Williams for another week at least.

95shakinpf 12-19-2011 05:42 AM

Remember guys...Robinson had the game ending interception in the endzone.
Good Game D and good game #21.

We held one of the best runners in the league way below average (for the second week in a row) Yes the QB is a rook BUT we have a BAD propensity for playing DOWN to the competition.

If we plan on going ANYWHERE in the playoffs this is the type of effort we need!!

He cut his hair. He said that he had been growing it out since he was a freshman in high school.

ScottF 12-19-2011 11:08 AM

nay-sayers might say it was against a two win team with a rookie QB, but we lost to a 2 win team, and we have made a lot of QB's (rookie, 3rd string, etc) look good. In other words, this is progress.

Great job Defense: pressure, coverage, run defense, limited big plays and penalties
