Vikings RB Peterson calls out Saints for playing dirty
 

MINNEAPOLIS ― A week after Titans receiver Nate Washington called out New Orleans safety Roman Harper for being a dirty player, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson called out another player.

Peterson, who played in his first game in a month due to an ankle injury, said Saints cornerback Jabari Greer twisted that same appendage at the bottom of the pile.

“I came into the game kind of expecting that coming back from a high ankle sprain,” Peterson said. “Guys are going to try and take their shots when we’re on the pile and try to twist it up and things like that. I felt like it kind of got overboard. I got up and kind of got in his face. Thank God I was able to keep my composure.”

Greer has never been labeled dirty.

Peterson was held to 60 yards on six carries, including a 39-yard run.

Look when you tackle a back like him there is a lot of graping of the feet and turning/twisting that is how you bring a back like him down.

He has an injury that he is going to be a little more aware of and anything goes near it will be heighten.

I have no doubt that we are giving that extra little nudge to drive the other team to retaliate. But we are by no means dirty.

More and more players are crying this crap, and not just about the Saints. These players are looking for any and every advantage.

Bill Romanowski said yesterday of the Raiders after their loss:

"This team has a lot of guys on it that like bacon. They really like bacon. What this team needs is some hog hunters..."

Romanowski is a tool, but that's a pretty fair assessment of not only some of the Raiders players, but some of the NFL players in general. But the league has only itself to blame for all this whining.

It is sad, but I grew up - not idolizing for sure - but certainly admiring the men who played in the NFL. They were tough mother-:censored:'s. I know lots of them still are, but by the time my son is old enough to really get into it, he might as well play it on a game console.
