We finally had a dubious call go in our favor.

We're now about 23/1 on the bad call for/against ratio.

I remember Gruden and Tirico chiming like Mina birds that it wasn't a screen

That play clearly was not a screen. Brees dropped back to pass and sat for 3 seconds before being flushed out of the pocket to run opposite of any potential blocker. There was no possible screen attempt anywhere on that play.

I'm am gonna look for that play. Officiating is truly getting worse in this league. Yes, some calls will be homer calls, but really the refs have ZERO consequences for calling bad games.

Whether it be the back breaking hit on the Kelley for a potential first down where he was about to be paralyzed it seemed, to where the Saints D jumps offside and the players basically stopped on both sides of the ball knowing it was an offsides penalty, but somehow a late flag was thrown and a "claim" that the OT moved.

Gruden was right, you could hear him in the background the entire game and just reminiscing his days as a coach where the calls were terrible.

Would you like to be at the NFC Championship game and be able to point to some homeristic calls from the opposing teams refs and lose the game by a field goal?

Saints fan or not, we all should agree that the zebras are out of control.

Yes, refs are out of control. And the Saints have been the brunt of their ignorance for far too long. If we happened to have one go our way for a change, then it still doesn't make up for the crappola we have put up with all season long. Far from it!

Agreed. They have been terrible for years. Did you forgot last year's MNF Falcons Saints game when the penalties were 10-2 in ATL's favor and Ryan got a phantom roughing call and Moore got hauled down in the end zone with no PI call?

Bottom line, the game has gotten too fast for the refs, and the replay officials are afraid to overule their co-workers.

Yep, I couldn't agree more. From watching many of the games this season you could see that the refs seem to have too much power. Replay is bound to start justifying some of these calls.

Absolutely. The refs are out of control.... just like the refs not calling a facemask/hitting the QB in the head on that sack on Brees, or how they didn't call pass interference the second Brees INT where the DB clearly hit the WR in the head before the ball got there, or how they didn't call a personal foul when that LB launched at Moore when he clearly had gone down and given himself up, etc etc etc... at least, they finally called pass interference on Roddy White, but that was like 1 out 5-6 that should've been called...

...so yeah, those referees are out of control.

Im a minority. I think the referees do a great job, with ever-changing and endless rules rules and more rules, and rules to determine how you interpret rules. They see things in real time that we have to slow down
over and over again, and still cant really tell. I couldnt do it. 70,000 people screaming at me and large men in my face.... I would be continuously invoking the "do over."

I dont know why, but it bothers me when we get a break. I've never heard of holding being legal on a screen play in my life. I think the guy brain farted, and if you give the Falcons a safety, and the ball back, it does potentially change the dynamic of the game. I want to win fair and square. I'd rather they say, "Man, the Saints kicked their azz," and have
no excuses.

I want to know we really won, in all scenarios.

I agree, I didn't see the play well on TV, and what I saw on TV replay was not enough to determine anything.

I think he was trying to say "no flag" but all that "screen pass" explanation left me scratching my head a bit. It didn't seem big at the time but it would have been a safety if it was holding in the end zone.... just saying.
