Falcons get Unfair Advantage?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all games of significance to each other (i.e. 49ers and Saints playing for #2 seed) are meant to kick off at the same time so as not to promote an advantage.

If that's the case then how come Falcons kick off in the second wave of games, already potentially knowing that they cannot do any better than the #6 seed? With that in mind, and knowing the following week will likely be a trip to The SuperDome (although frankly it doesnt matter if it's a trip to CandleStick), the Falcons can just rest everyone and let Tampa Bay win the game.

Now that doesn't seem right to me. Surely they should play at the same time as the Lions so they can fight for the #5 seed. Of course in that scenario, if they chose to rest players as they felt the Lions would win anyway then that is their choice. Fine. But in this instance, they get a free shot at a rest.

Am I missing something here?

That's the love the Saints get sometimes... Precisely why we have to be much better. Love those blow outs!

Mike Smith will probably be watching the scoreboard for sure now.

No Aaron Rodgers means that the Lions have a VERY good chance to secure the #5 seed before the Falcons even take the field.

The rest Ryan/Turner/Rotty/etc scenario is looking ever more likely...

It does seem they stack the cards against us sometimes

rest them all....they will get plenty of rest after next week no matter who they play

Turns out it didn't matter. GB won their game. The Falcons are already up 21... make that 28. So it's looking like they'll rest for a half then go to the NFC East Winner.

We can start getting ready for the Lions.

Typical NFL BS. However, having to go the tougher road to get to the Super Bowl and win it, hopefully we play NE so Graham can get some, will make this Super Bowl win that much more special.
