Last chance to sway MVP voters

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Brees is MVP to us Saints' fans, trophy and title or not. That is fine. Rodgers is getting this . So be it. We just want the Saints to win all of the last few games. That's all. Right....

I thought he played well in preseason. Not outstanding, but certainly adequate.

Drew's role in N.O. is greater than Rodgers. I would venture to say we would be the Colts this year if we didn't have Drew. Can you say that after seeing Flynn's performance today?

All of this = Drew Brees MVP!
Taken literally, you do take into account how good the backup is when you determine MVP - but in practice, they don't. It goes to the best player.

And it's true Rodgers hasn't thrown those numbers in a game, but part of that is because he didn't have to. Last week against Chicago, he had 5 TDs (don't know how many yards) in three quarters, but he didn't play in the fourth because the game was won. If it had been 35-35 instead of 35-10, he'd have kept throwing and no doubt racking up the records.
