Now that the Lions' opponent has been determined as the 13-3 New Orleans Saints, a team that has already defeated the Lions once this season, is Burleson sticking with his prediction?

"To be honest, I have no choice," Burleson said.

translation: Oh crap! we have to play the Saints?!?!

I actually kinda like it. He sounds like a funny guy to me. Reminds me of "We want the ball, and we're gonna score!" -- and we all know how that one turned out. This type of ridiculous antics on other teams, I'm all in favor of it. People tend to forget that the famous Joe Namath guarantee, he was running his mouth off at a microphone, and he shouldn't have said it -- but the Jets had been looking at game film of the Colts for two weeks by then, and knew exactly what they were gonna do to the Colts, he knew their defense inside and out and where the weak spots were. Big difference from what this guy is doing. This guy probably wasn't keeping up with the playoff picture and probably thought the Saints had a bye week, when he said it.

Then perhaps the best thing to make his "prophecy" come true for his team would be to voluntarily bench himself and not even enter the stadium
