I am curious about the way we, as a community, feel about nicknames.

Calvin Johnson is "Megatron".

Matt Ryan is "Matty Ice".

Adrian Peterson is "All Day" or "Purple Jesus".

Maurice Jones-Drew is "Pocket Hercules".

Tom Brady is "Tom Terrific".

We have (locally) "Quiet Storm" and "Breesus".

Of the above players, who are the ones that haven't EARNED their nickname in the NFL......

"Matty Ice"? . . . sounds like a c@cktail or something an underaged drinker tries to buy at a convenience store . . . I'm Ok with 'Purple Jesus', 'Tom-Terrific', 'Breesus' & 'Pocket-Hercules' and, of course, Megatron!!! . . . there's only two ways I think you rate a nickname . . . 1)You're arguably one of the best at what you do 2)It's a local thing and maybe just fits with a player's name.
