Washington, offering contracts and looking at three other LBs. Could be the Trotter story has some merit, no?

I think Parcells has Henson ready to play by week 1. This has the marks of a good signing. Parcells will get Henson ready to be a starter and accelerate his learning curve. If the Cowboys go up and get a quality running back, they could be really dangerous.

I have nothing but good wishes for Willie. Even though it was the immortal Brian Milne who won that playoff game for us. :P

How can you question me WhoDat? Have I ever been wrong before? ;)
Write it down, Trotter is getting released. I\'d start calling his agent now and make sure we are taking Trotter to dinner at Commander\'s Palace on June 1.

I\'m not smart enough to know the answers to theses questions, so I\'ll pose them to you guys:

Will Trotter be successful in our system?

Why was he not successful in Washington\'s system?

Trotter was not successful at Washington, because he is not as good as some may think. He was successful at Philly because he was surrounded by good defensive players, and in my opinion, the best D coordinator in the league, Johnson. He then goes to a team with less talent on that side of the ball, and looks mediocre at best. That being said, if he gets released, & if the Saints sign him, I hope he makes me eat my words.

The biggest reason Trotter did not produce last year was because Washington\'s d-line, especially the DTs, were absolutely TERRIBLE. No linebacker will really shine with a center or guard in their face every play.

I\'m confident that if we can keep our d-line starters healthy for a season that Trotter would definitely be successful here.

If the D-line sucked and that is why he didn\'t have a good year? I think if the D-line sucked so bad then the MLB would have a billion tackles. Trotter is an aging MLB. We get Gold or Draft for a MLB. Trotter will give us a decent year at best from that position and the following year we will be having this discussion all over again because we need to upgrade that position or he retired.

Hahaha sorry man, but that\'s not how it works. A good D-Line occupies the O-line so the linebackers can make tackles. If the DT\'s can both be single blocked, than that leaves a guard or center free to block the MLB.

Im not going to go more in-depth right now. I suggest taking Danno\'s \"Run Defence 101\" course though, he can definitely teach you how the performance of the D-Line and the LBs are related.

And as for Trotter being old, the guy is only 27. He has at LEAST 4 years left in him before his performance starts to decline.

MLB has got to be able to avoid blockers and fight thru them. I spent time at running back and always followed the fullback to see where he was going to send the MLB and run to the opposite side. Sure you right in a particular philosophy but not all... I do stand corrected he is younger than I originally thought. But still on the downside... leadership in question... Going to be somewhat expensive... I still think we can get fair market value for Gold. I can go either way Gold or Trotter and don\'t see much of a loss from either player except one comes from a team that knows how to win games and one doesn\'t.
