I'm looking at these new overtime rules and thinking something something red zone something something Saints defense holding other teams to field goals something something I remember about stuffing 4th and 1 in OT against the Falcons something something game-winning goal line stand against the Titans something something Jason Hanson 42 yard field goal attempt is BLOCKED by Patrick Robinson something something 55 yard field goal attempt by Jason Hanson is NO GOOD WIDE RIGHT something something

Hanson missed one again against the Packers the other day, too -- it wouldn't have won the game but still....every point helps when you're playing down to the wire against the defending Super Bowl champs. Oops I meant to say the champs with their backup QB in...

If we have to go into OT nothing would make me happier than the Saints winning with a safety.


Then, next year they'll change it to the other team gets a chance to record a safety after the Saints record one first and spot it at the 3 yardline.

A rule in the playoffs different from the rules during the regular season which determined who made the playoffs is just stupid.

They've done this before. Generally a rule change to the postseason is a stepping stone to changing it for all the games.
