Lions hope to play smarter

"There's a reason they made us the prime time game Saturday,'' Detroit safety Chris Harris said Thursday. "This is gonna be a good one.''

Detroit-New Orleans II, a rematch in the same building of the Saints' 31-17 win 33 days ago. Why I think it'll be closer (though a New Orleans win), and why I see it as the game of the weekend:

The Lions have ZERO room for error, but frankly, if we DO have room for error it ain't much.

Look no further than Rams game for proof of that!

I think we are a different team than the week we played the Rams.

Long sacked Drew 3 times, Laurinitis once. I think some other people sacked him too.

Anyway, you can see, just by that, we are not the same team.

That's what I'm saying, we have to play flawless football for 60 minutes to even entertain any thought of possibly winning this one . . . the closest game we came to that this season was San Diego, but they're not half the team you guys are . . . we get into the penalties, the third & longs, you guys are going to capitalize and make us pay . . . the most we can hope for is to have a good showing and maybe a chance to win it in the end . . . but we all know who's moving on to the second round. Good luck the rest of the way. Good article too, SI is usually so vanilla . . .

go Lions.

I like what the Lions are doing, I don't think the depth is there yet to really contend for a period of time or to really do much in the playoffs right now because of that. In 09 when we won, it took everyone we had, we were on our 5th & 6th CB's and had a lot of other injuries but our depth is what saw us through. Neither team is the same team that met in Dec.. The Lions have gotten healthier and they have gotten better. The Saints have some how stayed reasonably healthy all year long and have also gotten better both on defense and offense. If I were the Lions, I wouldn't expect to have the same success that they did earlier.

I think that the Lions counting on their D-Line to carry the load even with Shu, is going to be a disapointment. Delmas is indeed good but he can only cover one side of the field and we have 5 playmakers on the field at all times so unless Drew has a brain fart game and throws 4 INT's, I don't see us losing.

A lot of people think this is going to be a shootout. I'm not so sure. I see it as either a close hard fought game with us winning via our running game or, a blow out kind of game where we jump out early and run away with it or due to the aforementioned INT's by Drew, the Lions jump out early and run away with it. More likely, the first team to BLINK loses.

Oh, and BTW, we want Joique Bell back. LOL

Well the Lion might. I'm not.

I really think the playoff experience that we have will be a major factor in our favor!!

They hope to play smart? Tell em to hope in one hand and $h!t in the other and see which one fills up first!
