BBI reports, citing New York Newsday, the Giants may sign free-agent DT Martin Chase (Redskins) as early as today.

I found this interesting because I didn't even know he had been released by the Redskins. He may have had only one year left on his contract when we traded him. I wonder if the Redskins still think he's worth this year's 7th round pick.

The end result of the Saints dealings with Miami and Washington last year is: Saints swapped Chase for Rodgers and moved up 13 spots in the 7th round. It turned out to be a pretty good deal after all especially considering the Saints were seemingly not interested in resigning Chase this year.
