Our offense versus 9ers D (Looking at strength of schedule)

We've only been held under 25 four times all season (only 22 times in the past 70 games!), and we still won two of those. They've only scored OVER 25 four times all season, and two of those were against St. Louis. So us at our worst is still better than them at their best.

Furthermore, the best quarterbacks they faced all season were Eli (311 yard) and Stafford (293). That's it. No Brady, no Rodgers, of course no Payton Manning, and no Brees, except in preseason where they got lit up. From there, we go to second tier qbs like Romo (345), a past his prime Vick (416) and a hobbled Big Ben (330). They can't stop the pass.

We, on the other hand, have torched some pretty good defenses. Aside from us, no one else put 30 on Chicago before they stopped caring when Culter went down. Besides us, only 3 other teams hung 30 on Detroit. No one but us hung 30 on Houston. Only Pittsburgh (not even us) put 30 on Tennessee.

So even if they hold us to 25 points, which I don't think they will, Alex Smith can't go get 26, unless he's playing the Rams.

Yeah but what are the strength of schedules? Do you have a breakdown? That's what I thought this thread was about "(Looking at strength of schedule)"

I'd like to hear a comparison of our season opponents, records, etc. vs. the 49er's season opponents, records etc.

Just sayin.

We've played 6 playoff teams, we're 5-1
49ers played 5 playoff teams, they're 4-1

Saints Offense - Great
49ers Defense - Great

Saints Defense - Mediocre
49ers Offense - Mediocre

Saints special teams - Good
49ers special teams - Good

Looks like an even match-up.

I accept that friendly amendment. I guess I'm more so talking about quality of opponent. I'm no stats nerd (not saying you are). I just go by what I see on the field. Tennessee, Chicago, Detroit, and Houston looked tough on defense all year (well, not ALL year for Chicago, but before their qb went out and they started to mail it in). And the only teams that San Fran beat that looked even competent on offense were Pittsburgh, Detroit, and the Giants.

Mediocre QB's don't win Superbowls anymore.

I wouldn't put my money on it. Like I said in another thread, the 49ers 2011 is very reminiscent of the Panthers 2008.
