After sleeping it off.....

I'm still numb and can't believe what I saw yesterday. I don't think I've had such a rollercoaster of emotions with this team from going that high to so low in so little time since Carney missed the xp.

lumm0x 01-15-2012 10:19 AM

I've replayed the game in my mind so many times it sickens me. We pull out a bloody miracle and we need to stop one drive. Just one. And we fail to cover let alone double cover the one weapon they have had in the game. Uggggg.

saintfan 01-15-2012 10:26 AM

Yeah, that one hurt...

Could be that game plays out with us up by multiple scores if we're playing it at home. More than anything that's what I keep going back to.

Regardless, hey, it was a good year. It hurts to fall short with a team that clearly has the ability to win it all. Better than the Failcones though, who are about to undergo a relatively major shakeup. :-)

The thing to hang your hat on is the knowledge that we'll be right there in the mix again next year.

It's good to hear that you slept. I tossed and turned all night long. What makes even worse, this mornings Atlanta local paper just had to rub it in. They rubbed it in with big bold letters on the front page of their sports section.

I wouldn't let that bother me when their offense failed to score a single point.

me 2, that rams game....I knew that would come back to bite us and it did. It cost us HFA..

W. Kovacs 01-15-2012 11:49 AM

What makes it hurt the worst is that we beat ourselves. There was nothing that could be done about the first fumble. I thought Thomas was freaking dead or paralyzed the way he dropped after that hit; you can't really blame him for dropping the dang ball.

After that, though, everything that cost us the game we did to ourselves. I don't know how Drew didn't see that crossing defender, or why he wasn't leading the receiver more, on his first pick. The muffed kicks were like getting punched in the face, and don't get me started on the defense. I normally HATE "Prevent" defense, but against Alex Smith, how do you NOT play it? It was like watching Tim Tebow on his win streak: he's terrible, there's NO WAY he should have been able to beat us but when the receiver is so wide open that I could probably make the throw (and I suck) well, what do you expect?

It's just so freakin' depressing...

That should be our 2012 motto. "Remember The Rams"

The Rams cost us a Superbowl more than San Fran did.

We destroy San Fran in the dome.

I didn't sleep much. Still numb. My wife was happy that the Pat's destroyed the Tim Tebows.

This was the only silver lining from yesterday. As much as I loathe Brady and Belichick, I am SOOOOO sick of hearing about freaking Tebow.

Belair57 01-15-2012 12:05 PM

did you hear tebow in his presser? he said that the kid he brought in to watch was more important than a football game. Now...that could be interpreted good or bad for the guy,I mean...the freakin game was important dude..Im sure your fans and the organization care more about the game than that kid...I sound like I dont care about kids but I do..Just saying..tired of the tebow mess

QBREES9 01-15-2012 12:05 PM

I'm with you. It needs to stop. It's like they replaced Farve and T.O. with Tebow. I think he a great guy and will do a lot of good for people. But please stop.

QBREES9 01-15-2012 12:07 PM

( did you hear tebow in his presser? he said that the kid he brought in to watch was more important than a football game. )

Um really. Man thats you your job. Tim

OldMaid 01-15-2012 02:07 PM

Ohhh, QB and Belair, I agree with you.
The higher you are up in the media, and the higher they build you, the faster and higher you fall.
I do not dislike Tebow. I think he is a fine, upstanding youn g man with some real NFL quality skills at qb which can still be developed.
I hope he does not read or beleive his own press. When one does that, it is always a mistake.
In his press conference too, did you hear him say something like he was happy to be there, be given this chance and that some people see the glass half -empty rather than half - full and he ses the it half - fulll, and he was really pleased with what he did and the team...something really sweet like this.

Umm, football is his job. It is the job of many, many other people too. This was not some corporate annual game with the IT dept. vs. Marketing dept.:o He is taking a really carefree attitude and that is not good. In private, nor in the press is DB cool with this lost. Remember how Romo used to be and the Dallas media and other sources really got on him.
Tebow is so young in so many ways. The reporters also seemed to bait him yesterday with questions trying to get him to hang himself and he did.

Halo 01-15-2012 02:20 PM

After working for 4 hours keeping this site troll free, I passed out. I woke up at 4am and people were still engaged on the boards. I'm glad everyone could work it out in peace.

But I tossed and turned all night. It hurts, but I have a feeling we'll be back. Let's hope we're back with a revamped Defense from top to bottom.

OldMaid 01-15-2012 03:45 PM

Thnx Halo :-) for everything.
Here is a really nice fan site in that the Saints fans do not insult, flame each other.
People make an effort to get along.
People will check someone if he/she gets the slightest bit out of hand.

TheKillerBs 01-15-2012 03:59 PM

I think it's rather amazing that we gave up 5 turnovers (Basically spotting the 49ers 20 points), and still almost won the game. Great effort, but we need to hang onto the damn ball!

OldMaid 01-15-2012 04:00 PM

QB and Belair, read this. Read esp. about Elways' attitude.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/16/sp...-sideshow.html

I do not see things going well for Tebow 2012.
Maybe he should be Denver Broncos Official Team Chaplain.
This is about winning football games first and foremost.
I like God. I like my Catholic faith. It works for me.
I am not anti-prayer, spiritual beliefs or even if one has none, is an Atheiest. I believe in choice.
