Carmichael interviews for Raiders HC opening
 

The Raiders interviewed Saints OC Pete Carmichael Jr. for their head-coaching vacancy on Friday.

The interview took place while Carmichael and the Saints were in the Bay Area for Saturday's Divisional round playoff game at San Francisco. Carmichael called New Orleans' offensive plays after coach Sean Payton blew out his knee on a freak sideline accident in mid-October. Carmichael was promoted from Saints QBs coach to coordinator prior to the 2009 season.

Yeah talk about a **** job. Not only is it a dead end but its extremely temporary! The guy who finally got them a decent season for the first time in years got fired in his first year! Ha!!!

IIRC the NFL banned trading picks for coaches several years ago.

I watched Al Davis's son at the presser when he took over. He stuttered about 20 times reading a speech. Then that bowl haircut haahaaaaa!
Even his own Father constantly belittled him.

If the team grants permission it's allowed. That was just a backup plan anyway. With Reggie mckensie as the new GM in Oakland it's almost definte that the new head coach will come from Green Bay like he did.

thats sux...his play calling was really pretty good. i think i liked his plays better than payton

yea...he started off not too good but once he settled in we were demolishing teams. we put up 35+ pts per game. not his fault our d blows

If he takes the Raiders over the Saints.....even if the offer 50 million.....

I would call his judgement into question and if his judgement is questionable.... do we really want him?

Man Pete is hot right now. I wouldn't want to be a first time coach with those to teams. Thats just me.

I keep wondering, if Payton hadn't broken his leg this year, would any of these teams even know who this guy is.

Not to mention he is racking up those frequent flier miles. Maybe he can take the family to Disney World! :)
