Officially A Giant Fan....(This Week Only)!

Well, I have had several days to simmer down now. After all is said and done, I am just left with an unconsolable sense of frustration, due to some of the antics and things that happened during our game with the Forty Whiners. Some think the small things...the wet field, the uncalled penalties, the clock not running when it should be...don't amount to anything, but I think they all add up. I'm just very disappointed. I'm left wondering if the Whiners are going to wet the field on the Giants this coming weekend, and what kind of officiating crew they're going to have. Are they going to call tight like they did all season, or are they going to let that defense have it's way with the Giants? Will be interesting to see. One thing I know for sure: I am a Giants fan this coming weekend! So happy they beat the crappola outta the Packers, and I look forward to them putting the hurt on the Forty Buttheads in Candlelight Park!!! Gooooo Eli!!!!!!

JoanieNTX 01-17-2012 11:17 AM

And furthermore, thank you, mods, for not letting those douchebag Whiner trolls back on this forum! :) I don't think I could choke their cheating arses down right now. :)

UK_WhoDat 01-17-2012 11:31 AM

Ha Joanie.

Well I know you a giant fan... of the Saints of course :bng:

papz 01-17-2012 12:23 PM

If anyone watched the first game btw the two teams, you should remember how it ended. Dropped touchdown pass and then stopped on the 1 yard line. They're hungry, healthy, and pissed... they're going maul those whiners.

|Mitch| 01-17-2012 12:26 PM

I am a Giants fan until after the Super-bowl; I'd like to see Eli win it all now...

Agreed.

I don't see them getting 4 TO's in the 1st half on the Giants.

Giants by at least two scores.

Speedy Ron 01-17-2012 12:55 PM

same here. Alex smith looked like the biggest fag in san fran (ghay capital) when he scored the running td and was prancing around the end zone with his arms at this side and his hands cocked back. if i was at the game i would have ran on the field and taken him out.

alexonfyre 01-17-2012 04:57 PM

I'm going to play the devil's advocate here and say I am actually rooting for the 9ers to win, because I would rather look back and say that we lost by one play to the eventual super bowl champion than to some ****ty team that got stomped at home the very next game...

JoanieNTX 01-17-2012 05:43 PM

It's ok, Alex...u be da devil's advocate, cuz I'd rather see a Louisiana boy win it than those cheating scumbags in SF. They make me wanna puke. ;). I mean, uh, throw up.

I actually sort of liked the Niners throughout the season. I really liked Harbaugh when he was a QB all those years ago and I liked the "us against the world," mentality they had going. But their crap attitude, arrogance, and lack of sportsmanship/class on Saturday was absurd.

Now I'll be rooting for Eli and the Giants as well since I loathe both the AFC teams. It won't be easy, though: being from NY, if the Giants win, I'm going to have to hear it from my friends and family all year about how Eli and the Giants are better than Drew and The Saints...gross.

Drew and the Saints are the best the Saints have ever been. That is unquestionable. However, being an old fart and an Ole Miss fan, when I grew up it was Archie and the Saints. Eli is his kid. It is a no-brainer for me and sort of like a network, so to speak. I do pull for Peyton, too...just no as much, cause Peyton went to Tennessee. :(

NOT ME!

You don't hear a damn thing about that team out here, and now, all of a sudden, and just like the SF Giants by the way, the 'fans' are everywhere. It's a joke. A farce. It's disgusting and I hope they get their teeth knocked out this weekend.

skymike 01-17-2012 06:49 PM

another super bowl ring for the Mannings!

spkb25 01-17-2012 06:56 PM

Im not, I'd rather lose to the team that either wins or represents the nfc in the sb, just my own thing i guess

I would rather see the Giants win & send the 9ers packing in a home game. It doesn't matter who you loose to in the divisional round of the playoffs especially if you turn the ball over 5 times & fail to stop a drive starting at the opponents 15 yard line.

It must be Hell Week out there this week, SF....I feel for you. I would love nothing better than to see the Giants kick some Niner a$$. Go Eli! Brandon Jacobs, meh, not so much...that guy is still a tool.

OldMaid 01-17-2012 08:56 PM

Thnx Joannie.
I am pulling all the way for Eli and The NYGiants.
I felt a little happiness in the bitterness of revenge against the 49'ers when the NYGiants won and they will deal with that team in CA.
There is a little irony there that Saints did not get where we know they should be, but New Orleans Manning is going there to set it straight.
Yeah, he is a NYGiant. No, he does not live in N.O.
Yeah, but still, there is that little connection there.
It is the only little hope we have for now.

skymike 01-18-2012 06:29 AM

Hey wow, its a Hou-Dats reunion on this thread. hows it going guys?

HouYat 01-18-2012 07:31 AM

Not too bad, Mike. Still not over that loss last weekend.

skymike 01-18-2012 07:47 AM

Me neither, Bruz. I have this sick feeling, which is worse, since the Giants won, and plus I didnt get to watch the game, since I had a gig I couldnt
get out of, so I cant stop thinking, "if".... I cant watch ESPN, and dont want to look at any highlights, and of course, football has been the topic
on our morning show all week.

I need some crawfish to cheer me up.

RaginCajun83 01-18-2012 07:54 AM

Status quo here, I was pulling for the Giants this playoffs cause I wanted the NFCCG in New Orleans. They kept their end of the bargain, to bad the 49ers had to ruin our's

JoanieNTX 01-18-2012 11:07 AM

Hey SkyMike! Crawfish sounds awesome! Dixie's here in Conroe gets em really early, too. They told me they would have some last weekend. I'm ready!

HouYat 01-18-2012 05:11 PM

Crawfish time is coming...I'm not going to say it's here yet since the prices are probably super high right now. They usually don't go down until March. Now if everyone wants to pay $5 or $6 bucks a pound......naw,that's not going to happen.

skymike 01-19-2012 07:22 AM

thinking we need to break in the new house, when prices do go down. We still have lots to do... For one thing, I still dont have my bud lite neon
gator, but the Garage O' Fun is coming along.

HouYat 01-19-2012 12:20 PM

Sounds like you're volunteering your new place for this year's Mudbug party. That's fine, we can do a road trip. No problem.

UK_WhoDat 01-19-2012 12:32 PM

Remember to come back now JoanieNTX and not go Black and Blue (or even god forbid Red and Gold).

Black and Gold

TTSaints 01-19-2012 03:19 PM

Which Saints fan would honestly go for the 9ers after what happened...

JoanieNTX 01-19-2012 04:51 PM

I'm not going anywhere! ;) Just gonna pull for the Giants this week. Funny...red and gold were my highschool's colors....and NOW, the site of it makes me wanna lose my lunch! ;)

SaintsBro 01-19-2012 04:52 PM

I was too messed up by that loss, to pull for anybody else in the playoffs.

In this season of offensive record-breaking and passing pyrotechnics, now I am kinda pulling for it to be the dull, uninteresting Super Bowl that nobody wants or cares about -- 49ers/Ravens -- which the 49ers will lose badly. Final score 10-3 and ugly...I want the 49ers to win the distinction of being the LOSING team in the most boring, least-watched, most unexciting Super Bowl in HISTORY.... If we can't have another home playoff game, the Packers/Saints rematch or the excitement of a Saints/Patriots SB, then I want EVERYONE WHO WATCHES FOOTBALL out there to be miserable, too.

I am even more interested in watching the 49ers go 8-8 next year once they play a real #2 seed schedule against real teams....the Rams are gonna win that sucky division and the 49ers will be 8-8 and sitting at home next year.

^Sounds good. :) You ARE right...but no matter who plays at this point, it's gonna be boring. Who wants to host a SB party with these either predictables/or sleepers?

skymike 01-20-2012 06:45 AM

i do kinda feel like saintsbro. i havent even went to NFL.com... and I cant look at highlights. this is the only sports-related anything im looking at right now, and mainly thats just to join you guys in our mourning..... kindof a support group.

SloMo, I will tell you, the mudbugs were a bit on the hot side last year.
My fingers were swollen for two days, but Hou-Yats wife will be monitoring
the spice more closely this year. I dont know if you've caught on, but
a bunch of us Saints fans in Houston, actually hang together in real life.
We all met online, many from this site. B&G is not your typical place on
the internet.

Oh no, I've caught on and I agree 100% when you say B&G is not your typical place on the 'net, it's like coming in from the storm. Buy hey, back to the crayfish .... IDK what I like better, crayfish boil or a big ol' bushel basket of crabs, big ol' picnic table, buckets of longnecks, some friends and a hot summer evening ..... it don't get no better then that ..... and oh yeah, HOW 'BOUT THOSE GIANTS?, LoL!

ya damn Lions fan--- you're the first person to make me smile since we lost last week. I know
everybody else on this board feels the same as me, when football season ends... What do we think about? Mardi Gras, and crawfish season, whatever festival you like, and summer hangin out. Thank you much.

btw, its "crawfish," not "crayfish," if you want to sound Gulf Coast. or mudbugs. Now if you can get me to say DEE-troit right, we'll be even.

Here's some more interesting stuff: I live in southeast Texas, between Houston and Beaumont. SE Tex, since its Gulf Coast also, pretty much looks like Louisiana. Here, look at where my awesome swamp house is:
So you can see SE Texas & Louisiana are the same Gulf Coast. Everyone here has at least one Cajun neighbor. I have a lot. We all have hurricanes, skeeters, gators, snakes, crawfish, rice (big crop here), bayous, gumbo, and OIL makes the world go round here. Actually, both SE TX and LA have similiar, fascinating history.

Because of the Oil business, a ton of people live in both SE Texas and Louisiana. So while some people think Texas and cowboys, (which is true in other areas) my part of Texas tastes more like cayenne peppers than jalapeno peppers.

And Houston, the city itself, is nothing Texas. Its basically no different than Chicago or Los Angeles. You wont even hear a Texas accent there.

Just wanted to share. How Bout Them Giants, indeed!

SloMotion 01-24-2012 08:16 AM

LoL! ... and that's why I fish ... keeps me busy in between football seasons ... yeah, and we just call 'em 'crayfish' up here because calling 'em 'crawfish' is kinda' insulting to the quality and quantity of mudbugs y'all got down there, but we do use the correct terminology when we get some of those big, hogger ones from down your way ... those are 'crawfish'.

Nice area you got there, I am definitely in the wrong part of the country ... I was shoveling snow this weekend, but in my heart & mind I was on a flat bottom boat running those lakes, rivers and bayous in your Google map ... there has to be some Cajun-blood in my family tree somewhere ... has to be ... there's just too much about the Gulf region I agree with ...
