Cam Jordan

How do you guys think he faired this year?

dizzle88 01-19-2012 02:02 AM

He blitzed every down and didn't record a sack

Ok and how is that any different from any other member of our defense?

|Mitch| 01-19-2012 02:24 AM

I thought he showed improvement towards the end of the season...

aquaboogie 01-19-2012 02:53 AM

How does a DE blitz?

Haha yeah very true lol

He did show improvement near the end of the year and he was good in run defense to his side

Hopefully if we hire Steve spagnulo he will make cam Jordan better at pass rushing

MatthewT 01-19-2012 03:12 AM

Amazing talent, no idea why the stat value on him is so low. He really needs to step it up in 2012. Even though he played in all 16 games, dude has bust written all over him at this point. A defensive end in the NFL is paid to rush the QB, and seriously, dude didn't do enough of it. If Cam would have made at least a minor impact, Will Smith would have had double figure sack totals, and perhaps the Saints would still be playing right now.

xan 01-19-2012 06:27 AM

Hey! He recorded a sack. How many plays was he on the field? Williams does not play rookies very much, so one cannot hold him to a standard to that of a full time player.

saintsfan1976 01-19-2012 06:31 AM

Williams played rookies plenty.

Cam's learning curve (pac 10 to nfl) had to be huge.

He has the ability, the blood line and the tools. Let's see how he handles the NFL.

halloween 65 01-19-2012 07:21 AM

At times he showed potental and at times he did not, he does have to pick his game up. He has the tools he just needs to learn to use them.

Danno 01-19-2012 07:29 AM

He showed flashes at times, and played the run extremely well when he played.

Being in a 9 man rotation along the D-line doesn't give him ample opportunity to rack up a bunch of stats.

I'd read he graded out as one of our best D-linemen versus the run.

jcp026 01-19-2012 07:51 AM

Solid. I think Spagnuolo can get more out of him.

papz 01-19-2012 08:17 AM

As long as we realize we didn't draft him for his pass rushing abilities, I think he's coming along as expected. I do hope we find the right coach to help him harness his raw athleticism... hopefully turning him into a respectable pass rusher.

Euphoria 01-19-2012 08:24 AM

I don't now if he is talented.

He wasn't the fastest DE. Just so happen he was there when we picked I feel or someone screwed up.

I find myself a bigger fan of the back up DE's.

He even had trouble holding containment.

Mardigras9 01-19-2012 08:43 AM

He was on the learning curve, he will be better next year.

Its amazing that more people don't understand this.

One could EASILY argue that if we had more pressure from the middle, both of our DE's could have had better sack numbers.

Is he an Aldon SMith..no but I think he is going to be solid. The rotation we used was just crazy. How many other teams do you know use that much of a rotation?

SAINTstunna 01-19-2012 10:12 AM

I didnt hear his name all season. For a while I thought he was injured

st thomas 01-19-2012 10:20 AM

i did see some good bull rushs out of him but now he needs to put spin moves into those bull rushs. he needs his name to be mentioned lots in 12 to solidify his draft status. imo

CharityMike 01-19-2012 10:31 AM

I tell you who i'm not sold on..our DL coach..Our line has been booty for awhile now. Seems we need to make a change there if you ask me.

SaintsBro 01-19-2012 10:38 AM

I think he is one of those diamond-in-the-rough guys on our D (and in spite of all the dislike for our defense, we do have a few of them) that have the acceptable raw talent to be playmakers...I am hopeful that a new coordinator/coach is going to breathe some life into these guys, much the same way Williams did his first year with a lot of the guys he had back then. Playing with more experience and a fresh attitude -- remember how guys who looked kinda mediocre under Gibbs did much better when the new DC came in, and this has happened to defenses on other teams, including this year's 49ers. That's my hope.

aquaboogie 01-19-2012 10:40 AM

One thing to consider. No mini camp, OTAs, limited training camp after playing in a 3-4 defense in college. We need to re-evaluate after next season.

although someone like spags or del-rio would clear that position up. it can't be no worse to axe that position just because of the bad mojo this defense has had. the db coach needs to be called out. this is the nfl not high school i cannot go through another yr of all the dropped pick offs that may have saved this season from ending where it did. just unacceptable for nfl caliber dbs. when the tv crewmen said that gw quoted we just can't catch a ball made him look like the blame.

Luda34 01-19-2012 10:48 AM

He didn't do a damn thing

After watching this season through, I don't know that we have ANY talent on our defense. Of course I don't know that we don't have any talent on our defense either. By the end of the Colts game, every OC in the league had our defensive schemes figured out. That played hell with the stats. I was once a huge GW fan, but to see the same blitz called four times in a row? Man! I'm thinkin' a new DC is gonna show us that we already have a butt load of talent on that side of the ball. I'm hopin' you're all pleasantly surprised by all the players we keep that some folk on this board want to see gone. A new DC and an uninterrupted preseason to put it all together? I'm almost feelin' my first Who Dat? in a couple of weeks comin' on. I'm gonna save it though for when I hear who gets hired.

It wasn't only him, lets see if he blossems. The entire line stunk it up this year. I wanted him to get 18 sacks this year too.

UK_WhoDat 01-19-2012 12:24 PM

The guy was ok.
And I look forward to year 2
