I may lose it if we draft that bad. Will Poole is a projected late 1st round, early 2nd round guy...not mid first round. And I already said my piece on LeSeuer in another topic, but he isn\'t worth a 2nd round pick. I don\'t really like Boulware for the Saints, because he isn\'t a good tackler and we already have enough athletes who can\'t tackle on this team.

IMO, we need to go one of two ways -
Option 1 - take MLB Jon Vilma in round 1, then two CB\'s in round 2.
Option 2 - take CB Chris Gamble in round 1, MLB Rod Davis & another CB in round 2.

Many teams are projecting Boulware to come in as a safety too. Yeah, if that is what I have to look forward to in the draft, I would rather slit my own wrists. And please don\'t chime in about how this is just a mock draft, I know this, ok? I\'m just commenting on it.

That looks kinda familiar, I like the way you think....

I may have spelled it wrong. Its the tall WR from Virginia Tech. Good speed, good hands, and fast for his heigth. I read some early mocks with him going to us in the 3rd.

It Ernest Wilford, sorry...

Ernest Wilford
NFL Position: Wide Receiver
College: Virginia Tech
Class: Senior
Ht: 6-3 1/2
Wt: 226
40: 4.60

Strengths: Great size and is solidly built...Great leaper...Very athletic...Aggressive...Works hard...Not afraid to go over the middle...Uses his big frame well.

Weaknesses: Not super quick and not a burner speed-wise...Raw as a route runner.

Notes: A prototypical #2 possession receiver in the NFL...Will be a threat in the red zone.

THE HUDDLE REPORT

Earnest Wilford WR Virginia Tech

Strengths
Earnest has very good size for the position. He is a load to bring down and has very good hands. He is strong and fights for the ball in the air.

Needs to Improve
Earnest needs to run better routes. He needs to be quicker in and out of his breaks and decide how he wants to run routes. Is he going to run routes with finesse like a speed receiver or with strength like a possession receiver?

Bottom Line
As soon as Earnest decides what style receiver he wants to be, he should do very well. If he wants to run his routes like a speed receiver, then he better get faster and quicker. If he wants to run routes like a big possession receiver, he must learn the techniques and get stronger. If I were Earnest, I would go for possession receiver techniques. It is smarter and more to his body type. Earnest is not a speed receiver. When you play with a strong arm QB, sometimes you can fool yourself into thinking that you are a type of receiver that you are not. Strong arm QB’s can put the ball in places that most college QB’s only dream about. So, as a receiver, you start to think you are better and faster than you are. If a team with a strong-armed QB picks him, he could be one of the surprises of this draft. If not, he will have a lot of work ahead of him. Earnest might be a 1st day pick because of his size and hands, but with so many big, fast receivers in this draft, he might slip to the second day. He will be a very good pick in the second day. If he works hard, Earnest could wind up being a core player for the team that picks him once he figures out what style receiver he wants to be. Here\'s a hint Earnest…you are a possession receiver. Start now to learn the tricks of the trade. Go to the Chris Carter School for the possession receiver someplace in a town near you.

I figured you meant Wilford, but just wanted to make sure you didn\'t mean Vince Wilfork...who will not fall out of the top 15.

Will Poole is a real player. He\'s always around the ball. I like Rod Davis in the 2nd round, but I would love Vilma or Hall in the 1st. I\'m really not that high on Gamble.

I think you might be going a little over the top BnB. I guess that proper English talk must have set you off. ;)

1- CB Will Poole
2a- OLB Michael Boulware
2b- CB Jeremy LeSeuer

Looks OK to me. I\'d be happy. No linemen (on either side) from Georgia, all defense, decent picks. I\'d be happy with that.

Its not my ideal combo, but I wouldn\'t beeech to much. As long as they drafted another MLB with 3 or 5. Davis may slip to 3rd. MLB usually slip further down than the OLB.
They\'re the FB of the LB units.

1st-LB Vilma
2ndA-CB Vasher
2ndB-CB LeSeuer

I havent heard much noise about Vasher in the draft. I had some chances to see him practice and he is a solid player that can help the team in many different areas. May not be a huge name this year with the likes of Gamble and Poole, but i think this guy could develop. I saw he has a strong work ethic as well, something alot of our players dont

I saw Vasher get beat several times this year but he did have six interceptions. He would be a good value late in the second or in the third round.

My idea of a solid draft is...

1-Anybody - CB
2A-Anybody - LB
2B-Anybody - CB
At this point I\'m pretty happy.
3-Best WR left
5-Best player left
6-Best player left
7-Best player left

I just hope April 25th we\'re all arguing about whether we picked the right CB and the right LB.
Then we move on to discuss which cap casualties we should sign.

I REALLY hope we don\'t take Michael Boulware though.

He is exactly the same as Hodge, great against the pass, non-existant against the run.
We definitely don\'t need another LB like that on the roster!

He\'s also a lot like most of the rest of our defense - athletes who can\'t tackle. Which means, we are probably drafting him. :casstet:
