Bush has been a helluva lot more injury prone in his career with the Saints than Williams has with the Texans.

If the Saints can get him and keep Brees, Nicks, Colston and a majority of the other FAs, I am all for it.

Agreed. Gonna say this once: I'm glad Bush is gone, we have a cheaper, more integrated replacement in Sproles.

That said, BUSH IS NOT/WAS NOT A BUST! Now he's at Miami as their leading rusher......

When are people going to get over that fact. He's a successful starting runningback in the NFL. Nuff Said.

I would love to have Mario Williams. Mickey do your magic.

Probowl in 2007, 2008 and 2009, ALL-PRO in 2008 and 2009, averages 9.5 sacks per season, 46 tackles/season, 2 FF/season.

Is there some other Mario Williams you may be referring to?

I was thinking this same exact thing because going over his career stats it is very clear that he has been producing very good numbers starting with his rookie season, and better yet his production curve has been increasing - if it were not for his injuries this season I have no doubts that he would be in Hawaii right now.

Maybe because he plays for the Texans people overlook the level at which he plays?!

Shoulda drafted him in 06

I think that's a hard one to sell.

I still think Bush was the correct pick in that draft - he was drafted for what he was able to do: create overall excitement and pull off circus-like feats on the field.

How would we have done that? He was already picked.

A good write up of Reggie by Mel Kiper, on ESPN Insider:

People who want to call Bush a bust simply aren't watching the tape. He's only a disappointment if you had Hall of Fame projections because of where he was taken. But Bush has done plenty. Not only is he fourth in this draft class in rushing yards (and he'll be higher when he's finished), Bush has 337 catches. For context, consider that Santonio Holmes, a Round 1 pick who's had a pretty good career thus far, has 338. Bush was a key part of a Saints renaissance and Super Bowl team, and he clearly has a lot left after a great year running the ball.

the only other people i would have wanted in that first round really were tamba hali and haloti ngata. other than that id take the bush pick. it set off a string of events that were more long term beneficial. ex: sproles
