Superbowl
Which team is going to win? Who do you want to win? Oh I feel a poll comin' on.
First to vote... and Pats it is.
... "I'll take 'the Patriots' for $200 and the win, Alex" ... (Trebek)
Giants!!!!
I just broke a 2-2 tie. The "G" men 'gone win again.
I want the Giants to win and I believe they will. The Patriots secondary is so bad that they're using a WR as a CB. I know that Brady and Belichek are excellent at what they do but I just can't see how the Patriots can win this game.
I'm not watching it. I hate both teams!
Well sa most of you know my wife is a Patriots fan ( her second team is the SAINTS ) my son and one of my brothers are Giants fans.
So I'm going to have to say the Patriots. Aaron and Niko good luck do Ct proud. |
what is this event you speak of?
The Super Bowl ! LOL, you that Holy place. Go Patriots !

I win either way. |
I don't think the Pats match up well with the Giants. I thought so in 2007 too. I think the Pats match up worse this year than the previous SB.
Pats are very lucky to be in the SB. The Ravesn SUPER blew it, but hey, that's football. |

So did the 49ers. Yeah, I know you guys don't like the 49ers. I'm not particularly a fan either BUT you've got to respect what Jim Harbaugh has done with that team. Especially when they were expected to be a doormat. |

I fell asleep half way though and woke up to the confetti flying in the air... here's to hoping this year will be more exciting! |

What is your average NFL cornerback other then a WR who couldn't catch the ball anyway? IDK, I'm looking at the last series in the Patriots/Ravens game as an indication of how the Pats secondary can play when it's crunch time where they broke up a couple of potential game-winning passes in the redzone. Using a WR as a cornerback is not pretty, but it's functional. When you're trying to cover Cruz, Nicks & Manningham, more then likely somebody's getting open. Glad I don't have a dog in this fight (though I am taking the Pats), the more you look at these two teams the more you realize how remarkably close they are. |

either team would have lost to N.O. but I vote GIANTS
I don't know how to vote; I'm rooting for the Pats but I think the Giants are going to win.
NYG beat San Fran seals the deal for me. Sorry Brady.
I don't care. I don't care at all. There's an 80% chance that I won't even watch.
Like both teams... but I'm going win the Pats.
Probably won't watch it though. Don't know why but I hardly ever watch Superbowls. |
i voted giants but still see saints shouda coulda woulda. lol
No Saints...me no watchy.

Well...from somebody who just found out recently that he is not a real fan because he has a 2nd team...(it's OK...I can live with it)
Some of you guys are really missing out by limiting your ability to celebrate/agonize to just one team. The moment that Eli lobbed the ball to Plax after "The Great Escape" was one of the best moments of my life in SB 42...and I really can't remember any other moment being quite so exhilarating other than watching Porter step in front of Peyton's pass and returning it to the house to seal the Saints' 1st ever SB. I do remember where I was for both moments...and in the case of the Saints' game I remember typing, "OMG" over and over in the chat room. |
Well, 'LB', you know what they say ... "Great minds think alike", lol! Having a second team doesn't make someone any less of a fan ... heck, by definition, backing the Pats to win XLVI would make me a 'football whore'. I'd rather look at it as just another opportunity to get it right, minus the stress of my hometown team being there ... which, in my case, means SuperBowls have always been pretty 'stress-free', LoL!
Enjoy the game, it's part of the unwinding process and closure for the season. It allows one to move on, refresh and begin anew next season. Gotta' recharge the batteries, guys (and gals). Next season's NFC Championship game may very well be Saints/Lions and we're gonna' need all the energy we can get ... remember, you heard it here first. :) |
I for one more will join the not real fan train with you guys, and second your motion SloMo that it can be really great having a second team that you care about and are emotionally invested in.
Granted, I could never imagine a situation where if the Vikes were playing against the Saints I would root for a Vikes win, but that doesn't take anything away from the emotional rollercoaster you ride all season long with your #2 team as well. As for this year's SB, I voted for the Pats mainly because I really don't like many aspects of the Giants' organization and team - more aspects than I dislike about the Pats - and I do honestly think that they're going to win the game, which was the emphasis of the initial question laid out before us. I will watch the game with a 90% probability and more than likely it will be an enjoyable game - contrary to what last year's SB was - because both teams have offenses that can keep the game close under any circumstances, and both can get it done defensively (never mind the stat numbers on coach B's defense). |
the fact that there is only 1 more FB game til september is setting in...ugh
I thought there would be more threads around here for and about Eli Manning playing SB , gaining in on PM 's SB games, playing in his brothers' stadium...too funny. It is a real twist of a coincidence and things for their family.
I am for the NYGiants. NFC. NEP team is not the same Superbowl team in that it has been said there are only 7 team members with Brady who were around for the SB's. The seven include Brady. That is good because it really makes NEP a new team. An equal match there more for NYG. |
I'm in the don't care who wins club. Counting down already till training camp and next season.
G-Men win it and Eli tells all his haters to get on the "Kiss my Elite 2X SuperBowl winning Butt" Train.
Pulling for the Giants ... but methinks the Pats pull this one out. I got a feeling this is going to be a bad match-up as the Saints are a bad match-up for the Giants.
I love the Superbowl, and would watch it if it was teams I loathe, like the 49's vs. Broncos or FailClowns vs. Raiders. Most always pull for the NFC, although I did grow up liking the Chiefs as a fave AFC team. For some reason I'm thinking this one might start off slow but might get pretty busy late, and the G-men always seem to win those type games.
I don't care. The Saints are the only team I care about.

Ps. Just an observation, but there are a lot of Mikes on this board. NTTAWWT. :D |
This is one of those I don't care Superbowl's. I want the Giants to win but I feel the Pats will win.
