Which would you rather have,

An $8 million WR in Colston?

OR

An $8 million stud on defense?

I think the addition of an $8 million stud on defense outweighs the loss of Colston on offense, especially with all the other weapons Drew has in his arsenal.

Its close and very debatable, but I'd like to even out the talent a bit more.

So true Danno, no one wants to see Colston leave. But I would rather see the $ spent on the defense also.

I think Colston needs to stay, don't want to mess with the chemistry between him and Brees.

With that said, I do think Nicks needs to be signed first.

But Will Smith can go to free up cap space. One of the four running backs will be traded...and I cant help but feel Thomas will be the odd man out.

We will see, maybe Brees takes a light contract to keep some guys....I doubt it but there is always wishful thinking :)

I don't think we'd get anything more than a 3rd rounder for Thomas, or a 4th rounder for Ivory.

Thomas or a 3rd round pick?

Or

Ivory or a 4th round pick?

Even though Ivory is our 4th best RB, I'd rather keep him over a 4th round pick. Especially with the way RB's get banged up all season.

Agreed,

Thomas just got a big payday and he is the best back we've got, while all other RB's do one thing really well, Thomas can do everything

Ivory might be the odd man out i think,

Cut will smith, cut Shanle, cut sed ellis and replace all 3, martez is going to be the future at OLB, not sure what Vilma has left but we'll probably see Spags stick by him for atleast one year

I'd rather take the $8M/year stud on the O-Line.

I have never seen a team cut their #1 Receiver unless he was a headache(TO,Moss) or Injuries or downslide. Colston is out #1 reciever. We have no one to step into that role. Why go to FA and pay someone that is going to want the same amount of Money to be our #1? Colston is not on the downslide, and he has not missed many games due to injury. It will be interesting to see how this offseason works out but I think a new scheme and a couple players on Defense will make a huge difference without having to break the bank.

A FA Receiver no one is talking about: Dominek Hixon.

I hope we can re-sign Colston. But if not, I'd love to see us sign Hixon. I'm in NY so I used to see him play for the Giants and, while he's different from Colston, he was a stud two years ago. Plus, we could probably get him cheap as he's coming off an ACL injury and he is only currently making $550k.

Hixon has some talent... but stud is stretching it. He definitely could be a bargain basement find. That said, coming off the first year off ACL injury, his production could probably be had from one of our back end receivers already on the roster.

Colston is going to be a Saint.
