Welcome To The Off Season

And after that extremely poorly played Super Bowl and laughable Pro Bowl, it couldn't end soon enough.

Here's to a great off season by Sean and Loomie and the entire front office. We have a real chance to be the first to host our own Super Bowl. Bring on the draft and lets get this party started!

:bng:

bbourque5 02-05-2012 08:59 PM

Extremely poorly played? Exaggerate much? lol

I don't know what game you saw but there were several dropped balls, missed tackles and stupid mistakes on both sides of the ball. I mean, come on, this is the the Superbowl right?

saintfan 02-05-2012 09:04 PM

Sure didn't look like the two best teams in the league in my humble opinion. To each his/her own, but that sucked.

bbourque5 02-05-2012 09:05 PM

I'm not saying it was the best game ever, but I wasn't EXTREMELY poorly played, I was just messing around, hints the lol

Srgt. Hulka 02-05-2012 09:06 PM

We Would have had at least 45 points against those Patriots.

I Agree, But Gregg Williams would have let them score way more than 17 on us(Jokes), but we would have won

Now that... I can TOTALLY agree with that statement!!!

We could have won 38 to 31, but the Giants D played solid ball this season... our Saints D.... well let's just say I'm a SPAGS supporter! LOL

LivnaLieTimay 02-05-2012 09:10 PM

Thank goodness the offseason is here. Frustrating to see a team clearly inferior to us win the Super Bowl.

halloween 65 02-05-2012 09:14 PM

Off-season blues. Although my wife might get me to finally start all those honeydo jobs that she worries about. Fishing should be good up here in a few weeks, so much for the honeydo jobs.

Srgt. Hulka 02-05-2012 09:14 PM

Not the same celebration and excitement on the field as there was when the Saints won. They just don't know how to celebrate.

Halo 02-05-2012 09:15 PM

look, it's off-season... everyone needs to roll into the EE board, tell as many jokes as possible, have some fun, and get ready for all the geeky mock drafts!!!!

CharityMike 02-05-2012 09:16 PM

Brady played like crap. He was off on his throws. Brady bad game = Loss

Crusader 02-05-2012 09:21 PM

It was an ok game but nothing i will remember 3 years from now. No defining plays at all.

I got a stash of Zooey pics I plan to scatter around between now and August. We'll be okay.

I liked the game. Eli had some brilliant pinpoint circus-like passing, for one. For two, there was some great defense, particularly by the Giants, but the Pats had some big hits. Brady had his moments too. I was entertained.

As far as the NFL, I thought the season was actually pretty good-- take out some of the stupidity of the new touching penalties, and the usual
disaster that is Replay.

As far as my Saints fandom, this was the most disappointing season in our history.

364 more days till super bowl 47 in the Dome. (whatever the roman digits) For now, Mardi Gras and crawfish. Yall come see me on your way down I-10.

SloMotion 02-06-2012 07:00 AM

Yeah, I liked the 'fishing' suggestion ...

That may not be much of an exaggeration either.

I think I'll go get a bunch of new tattoos. let the boys in the front office do their thing. So we can be back to holding up that Lombardi.

FinSaint 02-06-2012 03:51 PM

Thank God there's still the NHL! :broccoli:

But on a side note, I have to thank all of you guys for a great full season of debates, speculations, and sometimes even arguments that I got to share with all of you fine people.

It was truly a pleasure to exchange thoughts with you on our beloved Saints, and my only regret is that I didn't join this great community earlier.

And a special thank you to Halo - your work in keeping these boards running is much appreciated!

anybody know how our draft picks add up this year. I know were minus a 1st round pick (feeling buyers remorse on that)

I completely agree with you on this Sky. We blew a great chance at another Super Bowl which makes this the most disappointing season in Saints history. It's nice that we have a good team in place right now but the reality is that the window to win in this league is so small and we let an opportunity slip by. Unfortunately, living in NY it seems like the memory of this season is going to live for a while. Freaking giants got every break that game. As happy as I am that this season is finally over I'm going to be constantly reminded by giants fans all offseason of what could of been.

Hopefully this mild winter in the Northeast continues and the golf courses open early this year...

Coach Payton has brought us a looooonnnnnnggggg way!

Pete 02-06-2012 11:50 PM

ZZZZZ2!

Wake me up when we're on the clock picking that rookie pro-bowler....

Great season that could've been greater is how I see it.

SaintsBro 02-07-2012 01:12 AM

It was only a couple of hours after the 49ers loss that I was already getting the Mardi Gras costumes and decorations out the closet...then after that it's gonna be Jazz Fest, so I'm set for a while.

alleycat_126 02-07-2012 02:44 AM

I been doing those honeydo jobs for weeks, didn't watch any of the championship games. This Super Bowl seemed boring all they way from the opening kickoff to the BLAND BLUE Super Bowl hats they issued out after the Giants won. I think if Gronk gets his mits around that last ball Brady threw then it might be a memorable game. Since that didn't happen its a wash.

Supertek 02-10-2012 02:45 PM

Only real reason I could take it was to win my bet on the Giants. This game is so much about matchups. Hard to be that close and blown with a bad performance in S.F. I just hope we can clean up our defense this year and get some revenge on S.F.
After losing to them so many times before that was real hard to take. Still went a long way and this team is finally getting some respect now. Nothing can take the place of Football for me and I go into some type of hibernation or funk. Although I do become interested in LSU and Tulane Baseball to some degree it's just not fun anymore. Need some happy pills to get me to August/September. Great site have some people here that know a lot more than me about the Game. It has been a pleasure.
