Thumbs down Are the Saints showing disrespect to Drew Brees?

"Drew Brees feels baffled, if not worse about how long it's taking for him to receive a long-term contract extension, an unnamed Saints player told CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman. Brees has said several times that a deal should be struck before free agency opens, but Freeman reported that privately Brees is telling teammates that his frustrations are rising."

loomis is not a fool, he knows he has to get it done. Or he will be run out of the state. Both sides want the best deal for them. IT will get done. I didn't read the article, and I serious doubt that drew showing frustrations.

That would contradict the "I'm confident I'm going to retire a Saint" statements we have been hearing...

It could be a couple reasons
1. The Saints have never been put in this situation in the history of the team and just don't know exactly how to handle the situation. {See the Payton Mannings deal}
2. Loomis has a certain # he will not exceed. {Seen that time after time}
3. Might use tag on Brees { possibly thinking his #'s this season want match last. {I personally hope they do or better}
4. Look to tag someone {Nicks for picks, I could hadle 2 1's for next year.
The list really goes on and on, no one knows really but the parties involved but these are just a few of mine.

Ok, so what's the hold up? How long does it take for an organization to realize the accomplishments of Drew Brees?
Yep, I'm sure the organization doesn't know his accomplishments. Wow. What an absolutely pathetic write-up. I'm ashamed I even posted in this thread.

Rob Lowe said Drew will remain a Saint with a great contract, whatever, not worried. They will get to a point all can live with. Agent and Loomis are negotiating and both are on the business side, Drew will take over if need be I'm sure.

I believe so. This deal should have been done by now.

A deal like this takes time. It's easy to say just pay the man but when you break the bank on Drew, who do you have left on the team to keep him healthy. Saints fans especially the older ones should remember a pretty dam good QB that came out of Ole Miss that proved you need more than just a great QB to win ball games.
