The Pioneer Press reports the one-year marriage of CB Denard Walker and the Vikings will end in divorce. After an attempt to reconcile their differences, the Vikings are expected to release the veteran cornerback today. The Vikings tried to trade Walker but could not strike a deal. Among the sticking points was Walker's four-year, $13.1 million contract. As a part of a release settlement, Walker's contract was renegotiated so the Vikings will not be responsible for about $2 million in guaranteed money for 2005, according to a source close to the situation. The NFL approved the new contract on Monday.

I wonder if the Saints will take a look at him.

dont think that would be a good idea. I kno the guy is from LSU, and he\'s not a bad player, but he\'s over 30. We need players that we can count on for years. Didnt we learn anything from the T. Jones and D. Carter deals. Carter is already gone and Jones isnt too far behind him. I think with how deep this draft is at CB, we can pick up 2 really good CB\'s in round 2. Even in the 3rd we can get a good CB. I now realize the F.O. has been smart by not signing any CB\'s becuz they are asking way too much. So let\'s just wait for the draft

Denard Walker is not what the Saints need at all. The whole point of this offseason is to get younger at corner and doesnt bring that to the table. He is an average corner and not much of an upgrade over what we already have. I would not be in favor of the Saints paying good money to Walker at all.
