did Brees know about the bounties?

Just wondering. I can't see that flying with him.

Yes, being the team leader he'd have to.

Rugby Saint II 03-04-2012 02:10 PM

Apparently everyone knew.

The question is who contributed and how much. That would be a story if one guy contributed a whole lot more than most...and wasn't even eligible to collect. I'm not saying that is the case.

Way too many people think Brees is a perfect angel.

Well, at least GW apparently did contribute money into the pool, and naturally he couldn't collect any rewards from it.

As I have understood it, that is why the whole thing violates the salary laws of the NFL - i.e. money being put into the pool by a party outside of the players and on the payroll of the Saints.

I sure many players knew about it. This is football, and I'm sure this isn't the only "illegal" thing that has happened... I believe a lot of things happen at every franchise.

Why is noone talking about Gregg Williams punishment in all this. Imo he should have to take the brunt of the backlash. Hopefully one reason we didnt try to retain him was because of this

Surely being one of the team leaders, Brees had to know about it. But unfortunately people like him didn't go out of their way and stopped it. As they should had.

Perhaps none of them saw anything wrong with it as it happens everywhere. The part that is getting blown out of proportion is this "paying to injure" crap. Players get knocked out of games every day. It is part of the game. One of the payouts was if it happened on a player in the contest's hit.

It was against the rules and they "shouldn't" have done it ... but, things go on in every play in the game that is against the rules and "shouldn't" be done.

This is the liberal media blowing this all out of proportion.

:whatever:
