It wouldnt be too farfetched for the Saints to draft Will Smith if he was the only left when we pick because what if we are unable to resign Howard....he could be used as leverage in the negotiations or we could just let Howard walk and we have another young stud at DE...now by no means do i want Will Smith in the first round but it is just an idea...and worse case scenerio, we have three DE\'s to rotate in and if one goes down, depth will never be an issue...Plus, we could all get jiggy with it.

Aaaaaayyyyyy!!

I don\'t think that \"heated\" and \"chill\" are two things someone can have/be at the same time...

You can have whatever debate you want of whatever kind you like so long as it is about football and not which posters you believe yourself to be smarter than.

Danno, just out of curiosity, why wouldn\'t you put DJ Williams ahead of Simth? Williams fills a need and has the same after the fact trade value that you point out for Simith.
I know this is only one guy\'s report, but its EXACTLY the type of player I don\'t want in our LB unit.
DJ Williams LB Miami

Strengths
DJ is one of the bigger linebackers in this draft. He has good speed. He also has good strength and does a good job of tackling. He is very athletic.

Needs to improve
DJ lacks great lateral movement and does not fight through his blocks. He is a bit stiff in the hips and on sweeps, gets caught up in the wash too much.

Bottom Line
DJ, DJ, DJ, you make me shake my head every time I see you play. You have so much talent and you give so much effort and yet you are still so far behind in your development. I ask myself why and I continue to this day to watch film just to figure it out. To be honest, I don\'t know if you will ever be that good in the passing game. Your hips are locked but you do give the effort. The thing that bothers me the most is that you hesitate in everything you do. You have no confidence in yourself. You are a 1st rounder in size, strength and speed but you do not lead others around you. You should have taken control of your play and the play of others around you by now. There is only one thing worse on a team than an indecisive QB and that is an indecisive MLB. I think for the time being in the pros, the team that drafts you should use you for one thing and one thing only. Just rush the passer. This will help you to break the habit of hesitating and give you some success and confidence. This will develop you faster then anything else. If I were your coach, I would think your name was Damn-it Williams because that is what I would be saying to you all through practice and the game.

Drew Boylhart

Sounds like Mark Fields, Sedrick Hodge, and James Allen all rolled into one.
I shouldn\'t let it bother me because so many others are so high on him, I just haven\'t seen our current staff develop LB talent yet.
We have too many gifted atheletes at LB, I want a LB ready to play day 1. Vilma in the 1st or a Thomas, Lehman, Daryl Smith or Rod Davis in the 2nd/3rd.
I\'m just a bit gunshy on DJ now, but I probably should have included him.
Whats one guys opinion anyway?

Danno-

Are you just following the crowd and regurgitating what you heard on ESPN or in a forum? :P

My take on Williams- great athlete, but what is going on in that head of his? He won\'t be an opening day starter, unless he\'s drafted by a team who has a wretched linebacking crew, much like the Saints. Seriously, his lack of focus and attention remind me of some potheads I knew in college.

No. I\'m a professional scout. I travel to all the top 25 games every week to scout the 224 players or so that\'ll be drafted this month. I did this basically in my free time with my sky-miles. I fit it in between taking care of two kids and my full time job.
I feed most of my info to Mel Kiper, Mike Detillier, CBS, FOX, ESPN and USA Today.
So basically I know it all and the rest of you guys don\'t know squat!
