A lot! Crusader, A whole bunch!
I've said it about the others, and its true for Drew also.
Leave Sean Payton's system, and your stock goes down, way down.
Players will fade away into mediocrity - some never to be heard from again.
Sean Payton is no god, but he does know how to position players to get the
most from their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Drew has been a BIG
part of that, and so has Chase Daniels. I believe he could get it done because
Payton wouldn't try to force square Chase into a round hole. Payton would
scheme around doing the things that he does best.

WHOA WHOA WHOA HOLD UP -- SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS BUT NOBODY LISTENED TO ME THE FIRST TIME.

What you have here is Kaare Johnson of WIST, who is the only one saying Brees is livid. Kaare Johnson said that, Brees didn't say that, Brees' agent didn't say that, NO ONE has said that except Kaare Johnson. And less than a month ago this same Kaare Johnson also said he had an "impeccable source" reporting that the Hornets had an out-of-town owner/buyer that was a "done deal" and that turned out to be a total crock -- in fact he was contradicted by the NBA president a few days later, that story was absolutely false. In fact there was no decision on an owner made, and still has not been.

Here ya'll are putting in Chase, and that's exactly what Kaare Johnson wants, to get people talking about his "scoop" that isn't a scoop. He even says himself, that he is not a journalist -- he just reports what he hears.

So calm down and put the baseball cap back on Chase's head, please! Until we hear this "livid" thing from somewhere reputable, it's just a rumor.

Our franchise has been doing so well and now all this drama. I just don't get it. We go from being one of the best, most competent teams in football in one season to butt heads again???

With the fines and draft choices that are going to be taken away from us, it might take another 3 years before we can draft Drew's replacement. I've been flamed before for saying that each and every game is important and been told it's a long season don't let a few games bother you, blah, blah, blah but the reality is that we've squandered 2 seasons of getting back to the Super Bowl and winning another ring or rings and now our window isn't just closing, it's SLAMMING SHUT!!

I guess we'll just have to get used to the fact that we're done as far as far as winning another championship for at least the foreseeable future and seeing the return of the Keystone Saints again, because this is going to impact our ability to get coaches and FA's to come here now.

I just spent $75 dollars filling my truck up with gas.

SkyMike how much a gallon is gas in Texas. It's $4.00 up here. Mark my word Drew will resign. If he's livid so what he's the one that made the decision not to sign. Again what ever 137 day till camp opens !Want to bet he'll be their.

In the meantime, the Saints will be charged the amount of the non-exclusive franchise tender against their salary cap. That figure is expected to be around $14.4 million. And the Saints and Brees will continue to negotiate on a long-term contract.

Even though it might make Brees unhappy, the franchise tag remains the Saints' best leverage in contract negotiations. They could actually use the franchise tag on him for three straight years, as long as they offer a 20 percent raise in 2013 ($19.2 million) and a 44 percent raise in 2014 ($27.6 million). That three-year total of $62.8 million wouldn't be much different than what they're expected to pay him if they reach a long-term contract agreement. Likely it wouldn't come to that, though, with both sides so motivated to reach a long-term agreement.

According to league sources, the Saints have offered Brees a long-term contract in the range of the five-year, $90 million deal the Indianapolis Colts signed with quarterback Peyton Manning last year. Apparently the biggest hurdle in negotiations right now is how much of that money will be included in the first three years of the deal. In Manning's deal, he was scheduled to receive more than $69 million in the first three years.

I think he retires in two so its a VERY smart move on the Saints part, business wise.

They could try to get Kellen Moore in the draft and/or sign Kyle Orton, SP can get both or either of them to play well within his system, and if they re-sign Daniel - well then they'd have an effective twosome or threesome.

Not exactly the same as having Brees as the QB, but better than nothing for sure.

Here, where I live in Finland, it was $8.35 a gallon, so count yourself lucky. ;-)
