Not worried. Actually the smart thing for them is to not say anything.

I have no doubt that right now they are talking to the people that really matter in this -- Goodell, the league office, and the players that they are trying to sign. They will eventually say something publicly, relax. Remember, the league has already said that Payton was not a direct participant in the funding or administration of the program, and Benson has unofficially said he/she is behind Loomis and Payton 1000%...James Varney at the Times Picayune has said that the front office is disputing the "cover up" aspects of the allegations, the "who knew what and when" type part regarding Loomis and Payton and the bounty program, which the league itself says was run and orchestrated by Gregg Williams... Let the wheels turn and let the process unfold. The Saints will issue a statement in due time, just relax.

Unfortunately, now that Drew is tagged, neither Nicks or Colston are going to sign a deal with the Saints until free agency starts, so stop waiting... It will be a while before we know what happens with them. Nothing will be announced for a while with them. Even if the Saints offered Nicks or Colston the MOON in a contract tomorrow, they would still not sign it until each of them has tested the waters of free agency, to see what else is out there. This is why tagging Brees was a big deal. We all have to wait.

Hell, I'm in WA State.....I've been getting burned at the stake for 30+ years and have yet yielded. I've been to several Saints/Seachicken games and have been spit on, kicked, and actually had my 10 yr old son son knocked down. I wish it would go away as well, and it will in time. We must be strong.

Yeah, but are they asking you questions because it's been rumoured you've placed bounties on anyone who gets too close to the water cooler?

The FO is being smart. Ask any attorney and they'll tell you, don't talk to the police and don't talk to anyone about anything like this without your lawyer there and advising you on what to say. The reason? Because even if you are innocent, those folks can still trip you up and convict you.

I read the 3 line statement that Benson posted on the Saints site.

1-The NFL has served me notice.
2-I am cooperating in every way.
3-We will keep playing football, so keep buying those tickets.

This has to be one of the suckiest off-seasons to date. Losing to a lesser team for the second year in a row, not signing (yet, hopefully) the best QB we have ever had, and now bountygate going to penalize a defense in need of mass improvement anyway.........WhoooHoo. Hopefully all this drama will pay off with a SB win in the dome anyway when it is all said and done. I saw in another thread this will put the chip on our shoulder we need, and I hope that is the truth. The off seasons now are way different than prior years of trying to figure out how to get over .500 to trying to figure out how to win another SB. Don't get me wrong still a great time, as it has always been, to be a Saint fan.
