Bounty allegations leave Saints, fans with uncertain future
 

NEW ORLEANS -- On the streets of this city, where beads still dangle from trolley lines and tree branches, the Mardi Gras celebration that ended two weeks ago has since been replaced by a strange and unexpected tinge of sobriety.

The Saints, after all, run this town. And now, two seasons removed since they adamantly proved as much with a magical Super Bowl run, New Orleans' team has created a buzz in the Big Easy that has everyone feeling a bit Uneasy instead.

From Frenchmen Street to the French Quarter, the talk of the city has centered on the controversy surrounding the Saints -- a team that is spending these gossipy afternoons hunkered down in silence awaiting the fate of this strange shame.

Wait a second: Coaches endorsed a program that pooled money together and paid out cash to players who successfully injured opponents so badly they had to be taken off the field via cart? That can't be right, can it? We must be missing facts, right? Otherwise, that's ... that's ... well, that's indefensible.

He's right. I do feel uneasy......but I also feel apprehensive and skeered'.
A lot of my Saints friends text or call me for updates about current events. The last few days my texts consist of WTF?

Well my friends up in this part of the country tell me " your the raiders of the south." That pisses me off.
That sucks, we will be hearing all kinds of trash talk now.

All I can say is screw em, screw em all. I have listened for over 40 years to my home town and team get called everything in the book. They can take away draft choices, they can fine players, coaches and team, I do not care.
The Saints are my team, they are NOLA's team and nothing they say or do will ever make me any less of a fan than I have been for over forty years.
Hell they can even take that damn trophy from of us if they want, we know the boys earned it fair and square, so as I said screw em.

"That which does not kill us, makes us strong"...or something like that. i'm from Washington State, been a Saints fan since '77, i've been alone on an island in my little part of the world for a long time...been through a lot, mostly bad, some good....my dying passion for this team will never falter....This too shall pass. Stay strong, Hold the Line and if people give you too much grief tell 'em to go play for the sea chickens, bucs or even worse the falcons!

No need to keep the trophy, at least for me. It is just a piece of material that tells us what they accomplished. I washed every game that year so I know that they were the best team and one the SB so they can have it makes no difference to me, we are still the CHAMPIONS...

IDK, "Raiders of the South" ..... kinda' has a ring to it, doncha' think? View that as a compliment, those old Raider teams were greatly feared ..... and respected.

Don't compare us to another team...
