JOINT STATEMENT FROM SAINTS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT /GENERAL MANAGER MICKEY LOOMIS & HEAD COACH SEAN PAYTON

For Immediate Release: March 6, 2012

We acknowledge that the violations disclosed by the NFL during their investigation of our club happened under our watch. We take full responsibility.

This has brought undue hardship on Mr. Benson, who had nothing to do with this activity. He has been nothing but supportive and for that we both apologize to him.

These are serious violations and we understand the negative impact it has had on our game. Both of us have made it clear within our organization that this will never happen again, and make that same promise to the NFL and most importantly to all of our fans.

That's one awkward sounding apology. I wonder if Payton and Loomis know they made it.

It's over guys. I know we don't want to give up how great it felt having such success the last few years, but it was a sham. Too good to be true. I know, I know... overreacting blah, blah, blah. Accept it guys, reality sucks and it wasn't the feel good story that we thought it was. Flame away.

It is not over till the fat lady sings. I don't hear her singing yet. Besides it was real. It was true & good & something we all deserved. Do not give up. This is exactly what the Saint haters want us to do. They do not want us to feel good. Don't you realize the city derserved to be hit by Katrina? That is exactly how some people felt then & now. How dare we fight back & rebuild & keep our football team. There are people who want to see us fail in every way. Let's suck it up & move on.

I just keep hoping that it's all blown out of proportion and cooler heads will prevail and then it gets worse. Corruption in the city, corruption in the team.

What was that. Hell be men step up hold a press conferance. Take questions from the media. Dam you can't brush this under the rug.
