Yeah, but Condon's goal isn't to sign Peyton in New Orleans, it's to sign Drew in New Orleans.

Condon's goal has nothing to do with the Saints; his goal is to get his clients the biggest amount as possible so he gets the biggest amount possible, doesn't matter what team offers the amount...

If that neck is still acting up, he could be the best QB coach in Saints history.

Nobody here really knows why Drew did not take the deal. It could have nothing at all to do with the money.for all we know he could be waiting for this bountygate thing to blow over. Maybe he is trying to get his core players signed first before he signs a contract.
My point is we dont know and everthing up to this point is speculation.

No. Brees is the qb here and Saints should pay him for a good two year contract.

PManning needs to retire.
He has won it all. Done it all. Childrens Hos. in Indy is named for him.
There is no end to his stats in the NFL and honors like the CH off the field.

You goal is to give your client what he wants. Drew has said on the record he wants to stay here. Period. Condon and the Saints both know that Drew will sign the 18.5m deal if this goes all the way to July, he has basically said so. Unless Condon is an idiot (an *******, maybe, but he isn't stupid) he will accept it sooner rather than later.
Hell, Drew has even said he wants to keep the team together, the franchise tag could be a plan for that. All this media hype could be a song and dance for the NFL so it doesn't look like they are using the tag to manipulate the salary cap while negotiating Colston and Nicks. (Guard Carl Nicks relieved he won't be franchised but would still like to re-sign with New Orleans Saints - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com)

All of this is "could be" "could be" "could be," and when I don't know all of the facts, I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the man who has done more for my city than almost anyone else in the world, instead of ESPN or SI or Fox or whoever is trying to say this is all greed and selfishness.

Peyton Manning in a Saints UNI.

Would be sick...

Leverage - Contract Negotiations

Want to get someone signed - Bring Peyton Manning in...

The Drama would be off the charts...

ESPN would have to open a Naw'lins office - Half of Hollywood is down here now shooting already...

Drew would have to tell his agent "Get this thing done before my tender expires or I lose my starting job!"

Am a Big Drew fan, but what is the difference between 18 and 25 million? You've got to leave some cap space for Colston, Nicks, and Must-Have Defensive Upgrades.

These are the two scenarios for Peyton Manning I would like to see:

1) Have Peyton retire and become the QB coach for brother Eli @ the NY Giants.

2) Play and retire as a Saint like his daddy did and based on what Drew Brees decides to do.

Retiring and becoming the QB coach for NO would be another one. What I don't want to see is him going to Minnesota and going out like Favre did. Minnesota seems to be the place old QB's go to die as of late, ie Favre, Culpepper, McNabb, Frerotte ...
