Reasons Clayton may become a Saint...
1.The vast majority of fans wouldn’t complain about the pick. Good PR for a staff on the hot seat.
2.The top guys on our list may be gone. (Hall, Robinson, Vilma, Gamble)
3.Could translate into more fan interest and ticket $ale$.
4.He is probably more prepared to start day one than any other WR in this draft.
5.He’s a damn good football player. A LOT faster than his 40 time suggests.
6. Haslet has stated he prefers his 1st pick either scores TD's, or prevents TD's.

Would this be deemed \"arguably\"? I put Roy Williams up there as well.

I can honestly say that I wouldn\'t be disappointed if the Saints chose Clayton, BUT only if a few of the names that I think we could get with our pick are gone. I\'ll admit that I\'m a bit prejudiced because he\'s from LSU. IF Clayton\'s 40-time is close to accurate, he could possibly become the Saints next Eric Martin. Not blazing speed, but could catch the freakin kitchen sink if you threw it to him.

You\'re right. But you get my point. An immediate impact player.
Granted I feel its on the wrong side of the ball, but impact nonetheless.
Some scouts have him at #2.
Almost all say he plays a lot faster than his 40 would suggest.

Seems like I remember the same things were said about Jerry Rice.

As much as I love Clayton, I\'m tired of teams playing track meet against our defense. Vilma is the choosen one, he will bring us to the promise land.

We could trade down to the bottom of the 1st and still pick up Clayton probably. Taking him at 18 would be really idiotic. If we do take a WR day one, I think we would be much better off taking Henderson in the 2nd or Colbert in the 3rd. I still can not figure out why Colbert is not an early 2nd round prospect. He will be a major steal in the 3rd round IMO.

Anyway, here is a reason why we WON\'T draft Clayton -
We never draft LSU players, even if we could really use them. Case in point - RB D.Davis & LB B.James last season. They both fell farther than expected and we just kept passing them up.
