Colston remains quiet before FA starts

While Carl Nicks has publicly shouted from the rooftops of New Orleans that he's as good as gone based on the lack of communication he's had with the Saints' brass, Marques Colston has been the exact oppposite, approaching free agency as a complete enigma. We've gotten some mixed signals on Colston's return, but most have been negative. Still, it's hard to know what he's thinking because he hasn't said one word to the media. The first story that came out speculated that Colston wouldn't be giving the Saints any kind of hometown discount. Then, based on the money he was potentially commanding, it was theorized that the Saints would have a very hard time affording him. More recently Adam Schefter of ESPN said, via his twitter account, that Marques Colston didn't seem likely to return to the Saints at all. So based on these reports that's got to leave you feeling pretty pressimistic as a Saints fan, right?

Saints Nation: Marques Colston Remains Quiet as a Mouse Entering Free Agency | March

Since Colston is usually the quiet one, I will take all the reports "with a grain of salt".......especially with any ESPN-related reports. They are becoming a bunch of Totem Poles (another word for tools)!!!

I do hope Colston returns though.....

I think Colston stays. Nicks will be the odd man out in the FA Shuffle...

Colston hates talking to press and has very few close friends, if he is told to be mumm for contracts, chances are he isn't picking up the phone from anyone.

Colston is a class act and smart for staying away from the media bloodsuckers.
I agree i hope he stays as well.

Colston is a goner IMO.

I'd love to keep him but he'll want a big payday, Loomis won't budge and I've said it before - without Drew Brees, Colston would NOT have had nearly the same kind of success in his career to this point.

Agreed. And I understand that if Colston can get more, he's gotta do his thing...

But I wouldn't put much stock in Adam "Making it up as I go" Schefter....

Colston is the quietest player in the NFL. He never makes a scene and I don't expect him to start now. He will probably be going somewhere else and he'll be quiet there too.......except for the crying from missing Drew.

i dont think he can be as successful without Drew throwing him the ball...other teams know this...i hope he stays...good fit
