Randy Moss to visit 9ers

Randy Moss will work out for 49ers | ProFootballTalk

LBCutta 03-11-2012 11:58 AM

figures.....

I think he still signs with us

Danno 03-11-2012 12:10 PM

Signing with the 49ers probably takes Colston out of their plans.

Jamessr 03-11-2012 04:47 PM

I still want Moss tho :(

73Saint 03-11-2012 05:14 PM

I just don't see how anyone could WANT Moss. Maybe he has something left in the tank, but he really seems like a locker room cancer. And, even if he were well-behaved, you can't deny he quits on plays. Why would you want that? Let San Fran have him.

buckblaster1 03-11-2012 05:44 PM

i think payton can get the most out of moss . and as far as being in trouble i think he will behave because hes like the nerd at the prom just glad to be there.

NOLA54 03-11-2012 05:56 PM

No Moss for me. Thank You.

gandhi1007 03-11-2012 06:02 PM

He's going to be a Saint, so people might want to get used to not hating the man. ;-)

I won't hate him as a Saint, but I'll hold my nose while I cheer for him.;)

I don't hate him. Not one bit, I actually find him quite entertaining. He's still a locker room cancer, and he quits on plays. That ain't hating, that's paying attention.

And, I wouldn't count on him being a Saint, either.

RockyMountainSaint 03-11-2012 06:34 PM

The rap on him was the same when the Pats signed him before the '07 season.

23 TD catches that year. 11 in '08. 13 in '09.

'10? Not so good.

Who knows? I don't remember reports of him effecting anyone else in the locker room. He usually effects only himself.

If he plays well? Great!

If not? Meh............

Like I mentioned in another post, I never saw the guy quit on Warren Moon or Tom Brady. He quit on Daunte Culpepper, Aaron Brooks, & Vince Young. People forget to take that into account.

73Saint 03-11-2012 07:31 PM

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall him quitting on routes in New England, when he knew he wasn't getting the ball.

Again, I'm not hating on Moss. If he ends up here, I will pull as hard for him as anyone else.

73Saint 03-11-2012 07:36 PM

Crazy that he played with Warren Moon. Was that in the 80's?

After he openly admitted to playing when he wants to and giving up on routes, HE CAUGHT 23 TD PASSES IN A SINGLE SEASON!

When he has had QBs at his talent level, he has performed. With mediocre QBs, he was bored.

I don't like that about him, but the dude is the second best WR that I have ever seen play in the NFL.

My bad.....that was Randall Cunningham, not Moon. Moon left Minnesota in '96 or '97. Either way.....the point was that the guy plays when he has talent at the QB level. He quits when there is a talentless QB under center.

a poopy organization with bad management can do that too........

Jamessr 03-11-2012 08:09 PM

Constaly hearing how great Wes Welker is and how he's the best reciever only because Randy Moss is getting double teamed... yeah I'd be pissed too.

Maybe after that bad year In for the Pats, Viking then the Titan... I dunno. He might be abit more humble wanting to play for the greatest show on turf

Besides that, the guy wants to end his career on a high note & he knows there would be no excuses with Brees as his QB. It's really a win, win situation. He's cheap, he's motivated, he's short-term, & he knows he's under the microscope.

Supertek 03-12-2012 07:35 AM

Think he has enough to make a run for it I am for it personally so I hope they don't offer him so much we can't match. Especially if we lose Colston and or Mech.

SloMotion 03-12-2012 08:24 AM

He won't mesh with Harbaugh's personality ... I don't see the 49'ers signing him.

Neither do I. I'm sure Randy Moss will snicker and laugh when that
"Who's got it better that us" **** comes out again

LivnaLieTimay 03-12-2012 08:40 PM

@AdamSchefter
Filed to ESPN: 49ers reached agreement on a one-year deal with wide receiver Randy Moss.

Guess Moss is a niner now. I'm sure he won't complain at all with Alex Smith as his QB...

W. Kovacs 03-12-2012 08:54 PM

I hope not snatching him up doesn't come back to bite us in the rump...

Nothing's official yet, but it's a good signing for the whiners if it turns out true. I have a feeling Randy will regret it, though. Alex Smith is garbage much like Brooks & VY.

73Saint 03-12-2012 09:03 PM

I bet he just didn't want to practice in Nawlins in da heat!

Well, the 49'ers signed him ... just as Harbaugh made a liar out of me in the '87 Rose Bowl, so has he with Randy Moss.

I'll be very surprised if Moss & Harbaugh can work together. Harbaugh is all about integrity, love of the game, sacrifice & team. Moss is all about Randy.

If Moss was going to make a comeback, I think doing it under a coach like Sean Payton would have been a better fit.

Luda34 03-13-2012 07:53 AM

Good I didn't want him

Pete 03-13-2012 12:06 PM

Me neither Luda!Good riddance Moss

jcp026 03-13-2012 12:11 PM

Too bad. I had him literally penciled in for 40 catches 1000 yards and 10 tds with the Saints. Oh well.
