I'd like to have him, but if we're letting Vilma go I'd rather have Lofton. Or maybe we can keep Vilma, restructure his deal, and bring in Woodyard.

I think we're going to have a lot of cap room next year. Ellis will be a free agent. I think Greer's contract will be up. Smith and Vilma would be candidates for release. Bushrod will be a free agent. Then we can bring in big names and higher priced talent.

I have a feeling that Vilma won't be wearing the black and gold next season. He's got some nagging health issues. He faces a possible suspension. And if he were gone we could free up a little cap space for other players we would like to bring in.

i would love to agree with you but we never bring in big names free agents it seems. Brees was the biggest and his shoulder was falling off

I know big names are unlikely, but I think we will have the cap space.

Maybe so, I was just trying to make a point that we bring in big names if we really want them and can get them at the right price.
