Glad to have Grubbs on board but I think we may have overpaid a little. I would of thought his salary was going to be about $1 million less per year than what we gave him (I thought around $6 million a year was the right price). However, it's good to know that we have 2 solid guards locked up for the next 5 years. Now let's get Drew a long term deal and shore up the defense.

I hope he stays off twitter. It looks like some Saints "fans" said some crappy things about Carl Nicks. Maybe Grubbs has thicker skin.

Even though Nicks got annoyed on twitter, my opinion is that there's no call for this kind of talk. While for us fans who live and die Saints football, Nicks' leaving looks like a selfish defection, football is in fact a job and a business for the players. Nicks will likely only get 3 contracts in his career, and this second one is the one that's going to pay all the bills for him. He has an obligation to look out for himself and his family, just as the Saints are obligated to look at for the team as a whole.

Who among us would actually pass up a job paying 3 times the salary just to say in our current job out of a sense of loyalty? I'd be out the door so fast, the door would spin for a week.

All I'm saying there's no hard feelings to Nicks on my part and I wish him well...

Except when he's playing the Saints.
