Who's the pick?

Now that the Saints have traded for a potential starting CB, will they still draft corner in the first or will it possibly be Vilma or a receiver?

I hope they go bold and trade up for one of the two top CB's.

I hope its Vilma. I hope Denver isn\'t trying for him.

Denver has Al Wilson, I think they are more opt to take DJ Williams or Karlos Dansby.

I think the Saints will still go corner if one of the big 3 is still there (Hall, Robinson, Gamble) otherwise i think Vilma or WR.

I\'m telling you now, there is zero chance of that happening. I think we would go for Woods before Clayton. This coaching staff has something against drafting LSU players. Clayton at 18 would be a big reach anyway. I would much rather have Colbert in the 3rd than waste a first rounder on Clayton, or Woods, or any other WR that will just sit 4th on the depth chart for a couple years.

I have to agree. Unless its one of the top three receivers then the receivers need to stay on the board.

I still feel that Haslett has targeted either Hall or Robinson and will make a move up into the top 10 or 12 to get his guy. Then select the best LB available in the second. Unless the team is planning to change the current situation at WR (Horn, Stallworth, Pathon), which I don\'t see, a WR won\'t be selected until the second day.

I agree 100%. Let\'s have a chat during the draft so I can read about the anger of all the Vilma lovers on this board immediately.

vilma played behind wilfork and harris all year, any midget would be good with them in front of you. clayton just dominated the best cb\'s in college football all year. i seen duncans article in the paper today--clayton is a no brainer pick at 18 rather than make a big REACH for vilma. we got problems at wr--clayton would fix that and be a every year probowl guy and the best player we drafted since willie roaf. we can draft vilma in the 2nd round if we want.

You will not beable to get Vilma in round 2, but you COULD get Clayton at the top of the 2nd. His stock is falling, quick. I don\'t even think Clayton will be that good of a WR in the NFL. Maybe a solid #2, but he ain\'t worth a #1 pick. We have much bigger problems than WR and MLB is one of those problems. If you seriously believe we need another WR more than a starting MLB, then you are out of you\'re ****ing mind

So was Josh Reed, huh.

Clayton is 6\'3\" and 197. That\'s a little lean. How long will he hold up?

I can\'t tell you who the Saints WILL pick. I will say that given their needs and FA to date, I would still like to see a LB, CB, and WR with their first 3 picks. After that, whatever, just give me impact players at LB, CB, and WR. Please!

i would be ok with taking woods since he runs routes better. reggie williams wont get off the line in the pros--he gets stopped with the jam. clayton works harder and is a better clutch player than the other two. he has great vision and guts to go across the middle-makes the people around him better. mccarthy says hes the best wr in the draft. even if clayton is just 200 pounds now, he will put on weight. he hasnt missed a game in 3 years--there aint no way he spends less time on the field than stallworth.
vilma would be ok to call defensive plays and it woud be good to have a smart player in defense, but hes not goin to add any more muscle. if haslett wants to stop the run, vilma aint gonna get it done. vilma can do coverage, but he will get handled by olinemen in the pros.
