A mile-high linebacker?
The Broncos, fearing Auburn linebacker Karlos Dansby would be off the board before pick No. 24, moved up seven spots Friday to be in position to nab their man.

I'm not a member, so I couldn't read the whole story.

Funny thing about this is...they can probably get DJ Williams at 17 and I hear that a lot of scouts have dropped Dansby down to a 2nd or 3rd round prospect. So Denver trading up for him seems a bit...stupid. But, I did say (in another topic) that they were trading up for an OLB, so score one for me

Why would Denver release that? So another team could then jump in front of them? Nonsense. It\'s just smoke and mirrors for what they really want; a running back.

They (sportingnews) certainly beg to differ. Their Top 5 picks:

1. San Diego - Larry Fitzgerald
2. Oakland Raiders - Robert Gallery
3. Arizona Cardinals - Eli Manning
4. New York Giants - Ben Roethlisberger
5. Washington Redskins - Tommie Harris

I think I would hold a bet of 100:1 against that scenario.
So, just another sports journalist (or just another guy with a website?) trying his hand at a mock draft. Trading for Dansby? I doubt it.

Denver can turn an average RB into one of the most productive RB\'s in the league. I highly doubt they will use a #1 pick on a RB when they can get one that will be just as productive in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Great point - I\'d be surprised if Denver goes RB in round 1. I don\'t put it by them, but it does seem kind of dumb. Look for DT... if you ask me.
