Do the Saints already know there penalties?

Do you think the higher ups in Saints brass already know there punishment? After all Tom Benson, Loomis, and Peyton met with the Commisioner at Mr. Bensons request to discuss what the would likely take place.

- Saints have been more outward with what took place since meeting with Goodell

- Player cuts ( Looks like Vilma, may be the first casualty )

Five yards further on kickoffs this year... And the opponent has a 3 point head start? Just a wild guess.

I doubt it or some body would have let it slip and we'd know already.

They know.... This is a business and both the NFL and New Orleans want this to go away. This is not a fine to a player for a bad hit... It is a franchise and a profit generator for both the NFL, the city, and Benson. Goodell does not want to damage the franchise to the point attendence falls.

My guess is that Gucking Foodell layed out his proposed punishment and then there were negotiations to come to an agreement where New Orleans wouldnt appeal or drag it out.

e.g.

Goodell - Your going to get a spanking. I will not draw blood as long as you promise not to call child protection. I know this is an age old tradition but you idiots made me look line an ass by documenting it.

Saints - Ok... you can hit me three times. On the fourth hit we are going to take legal action which will pull the entire NFL into this.

In regards to the NFLPA requesting to be able to investigate before scentencing.... Not going to happen, that will drag things out and may cause more uglyness to rise to the surface.

Its a black eye and ALL partys want it to go away.

At least... that is how I would play it from both sides of the ball.
