Thank you Jabari Greer

Jabari Greer, a defensive back for the New Orleans Saints, recently wrote a poem about the bounty scandal. It was, well, interesting.

It would have made Langston Hughes throw up in his mouth a little, but the main problem wasn't its quality. Greer basically admitted in an afterword to the poem that some of the bounty accusations were accurate. "Although some of the allegations brought before us are true," Greer wrote. "We are men of integrity that play the game the way it's meant to played ... with undeniable passion. We are all professionals, with families and a future. We play a violent game, but we NEVER intend to hurt anyone."

I can tell you that Greer's admission was met with rolling eyes and disbelief from a number of Saints players. There is a belief among them that the league has no real proof players intentionally hurt competitors for money, but Greer basically just implicated some of them and gave the NFL a nice piece of confirmation.

Hmm what proof did he give. I believe it said "we NEVER intended to hurt anyone." Did the guy read what he wrote.

Edgar Allen Poe is rolling over in his moseleum!

Since when does writing a poem make it all facts?

Williams already admitted to pay for performance pots. That is all Jabari is saying also. All of the defense has admitted to pay for performance, just not bounty hits. No story here or added guilt.

I am rolling on the lino-le-um

But that might be too much information

Seriously, aside from Jabari's brave, albeit half-baked attempt at publishing poetry, there is no story here.

Where's the poem? I saw the quotes, but not the poem. I must be missing something??? I read some of the comments below...some guy hoping that Williams and Payton are out for most of the year. Ugh....I'm so sick of this. Do we really think they're going to suspend Coach P for most of the year? Surely not! Can we not eek out a few suggestive scandals for some of the other teams? This is getting ridiculous!

You better THINK before you speak. THINK.
